Default CK's Carjacking the NHL Threads Leans for Friday 2/13/09

Well now, it is time to take the dip into unchartered waters and play some hockey for a couple of days while the NBA goes through their All Star Break. On tap I will be checking out some of the threads around here and riding some of th pros picks over here for a couple of days, and also riding with our resident hockey master, hockeytown11.

As for me i will also still be wagering on some NCAA basketball while here at our temporary home away from home. i didn't come to step on any toes, just to have a little fun in a different type of sport.

West Virginia-3.5

Public Service Announcement,

While here ladies and gentlemen it would be advantageous to browse around and check out someof the other threads. I hear that TodaysAction is pretty good so that might be a good place to start. And then there's JohnMorr08's thread as well. I KNOW he's pretty good. So enjoy the research and let's find out some new avenues to make money!

Remember when cks moved up to CBB threads and called machine that was f...ing hot to date, and just coincided with the begining of machines cold streak. Hope it wont happen the same with TodaysAction lol. Im not superstitious tough.

Very impresive numbers TA. I hope I can watch, follow and learn a little something. Based on the win-loss, it would seem that you dont bet all games evenly. Do you post units with your picks to indicate strength of the pick? Please advise, inquiry minds that like makin money wanna know.

cheesehead
I dont know WV is 5-2 ATS and 4-2 SU against nova at home thats for the trends overall
but if you look at the last 5 games or so that both teams played, nova seems to be really good and WV had some problems, I am looking forward to cks writeup later on
but when you look at the past WV has novas number

One play I like today in CBB is Rider -9.5, it perfectly fits a new system that I am working on , yesterday it was 3-0 but I dont have enough time to backtrack it for the year or even further back, if it works on saturday too I will post what I am looking at ...

and bc we are in the nhl today I will follow hockeytowns picks for 1.0 each

anyway GL to everyone today

it is funny that you mention that. while watching the Grammys the other night, Stevie Wonder was performing Superstition with the Jonas Brothers (yikes) and one of them forgot the damn words! seriously man, how do you disrespect a Motown icon like Stevie Wonder like that!

just for that I am on the Grand Salami over 40.5.

best of luck today!

I saw that schaapattack.

Nice find. I am trying to tinker around on Sportsinsights right now and slap me together a parlay sandwich for today's action. I hit one yesterday, and now I have the fever!

Cassidy,

We went to the NCAA threads on a different mission. Sometimes you have to go places in peace and other times you have to go there on a war mission. What happened in the NCAA threads was that I had been here since November and I kept hearing little snipets of things coming from posters in the NCAA threads ridiculing our thread. So I basically went over there one day and i started seeing that we were basically being ragged on freely and openly. I simply found out which NCAA threads were the most profound in their bad commentary about our thread, which guys were allegedlythe best over there, and then I went on a sojourn over there for two weeks to prove that I could hold my own against the naysayers and pick buyers. The Machine Choice's collapse is a byproduct of the service he was using was exposed. And once that was done, he could no longer use that service. So now he is basically either self handicapping his games or he is using a different service that is not quite as good as the one he was using previously. I had nothing to do with what is happening to him. But at least he is now showing his human side and that in itsself is a plus. Let's just say that by the time we left the NCAA threads they knew that we had been there, and they got a chance to see that it is better to create a nation of educated, sharp wagerers, with diverse offerings, than to have one guy just giving out picks. I am most proud of the CK Mafia.

We came to the NHL threads on a different quest. We came here in peace and with a thirst for knowledge of a sport that not many of us truly understand. It goes without saying that I have never even been a hockey person, and I placed my first hockey wager ever within the last month, and now since I have been tailing our resident hockey person, I have seen my stack of hundreds get bigger (I am only wagering $100.00 a game until I fully understand what i am wagering on, lol!) and that intrigues me. I will be all over the place asking questions and checking out styles, etc during this weekend.

Oh and I wanted to tell ya that that avatar is smokin' hot. They need me to complete the sandwich! A nice 41 year old Black guy on Viagra and Vodka and Rockstar!

The grand salami refers to the combination of all the games and betting on either the home teams or away teams. The bets can be the straight up ML, goals scored spread (-1.5 goals/+1.5 goals) or the total (O/U).

Take today, the total goals scored today is 40.5 goals. This is the total of all the games played today.

The ML today for all away teams is -130 (Bookmaker). This is saying that more away teams will win then home teams.

Hope this explains it alright and doesn't add confussion.

Hey Jaymac......I believe that's when you bet the overall total of all games for a sport. Like if there's 4 hockey games (average total 5.5 x 4games = 22)....so you would bet over or under 22 for all games involved.

Man....what happened with our late night pick???

I saw the highlights this morning....Zags are up by 4 and foul the guy shooting a 3 pointer????????

repski,

In wagering everything that looks easy is most often not. Villanova is the easy choice. It is obvious that the line was made to invite bettors to jump all over Villanova, but they have lost by 9 points on average in their last 2 games Morgantown.

I make it a habit to not wager with teams that have won 3 or more games in a row because the linemaker will make the necessary adjustments. With the Mountaineers losing 3 road games recently and getting beaten by double digits in their last game against Pitt, the Wildcats will get their best effort in front of a sold out home crowd tonight. Morgantown is a tough place to play because of the altitude. Here's proof. They only have three home losses this year and those were to heavyweights Pitt, UCONN and Kentucky. Other than that they have only lost 1 more home game out of thier last 20 to go 16-4 straight up at home.

They are also 4-2 ats playing against Villanova in the last 6 overall and 5-2 ats playing them at home, although some of that info can be thrown out the window because it is prehistoric. But the point is that they actually match up well with Villanova's personnel. West Virginia only gives up 55.2 points on defense at home (12th in the country)and Villanova gives up an awful 73 points per game on the road which is 227th in the country.

I'll take the home chalk in this one as it is tough as hell to win a game on the road in the Big East as the Mountaineers know oh so well. I wouldn't actually annoint the Wildacts as a better team. Put Mazzula in the lineup and the Wildcats get blown out by 15.
