After following you for so long, I don't even mind nights like this, as I know a 4-0 up $600 something day is looming. You always have amazing days after something like this.

    1-5 -$370 on the night

Actually lucky not to be down more money with that record. Glad I went light on my plays today with no big unit plays.

Just one of those crazy nights.
    -CBJ beats Sharks 6-3
    -Oilers crushing Calgary
-LA hitting an OVER midway through the 2nd

Nice hit on the OT DG. Is it just me or do refs play a huge part in deciding the game. In basketball they can give freethrows which really aren't hard to overcome unless you get 20 more freethrows than your opponent.

Here they have the penalty.... I can't help but think if it wasn't for the penalty calls the Kings would have won this game.

It seems to me the refs play a large role in decisions- unless you're a good enough team to win despite their bs calls. Am I wrong on this?

Seems like it's a fast paced game with plenty of penalties but refs are very selective when they call the penalties and when they do its a big disadvantage. Especially helps up the scoring also like in the NBA unless you're a good penalty killing team which is part of the game a lot of foul calls will usually help drive the score up.

Not usually but sometimes for sure they can. The major factor where refs can ruin a game for either side is on the 5 minute major penalties. A lot of the time the ref looks over too late and just sees the player crumpled unconscious on the ice. The severity of the injury almost always determines whether it's a 2 or 5 minute penalty. If the guy gets up right away it's usually 2. If the guy is out cold it's almost always 5.

Also refs are prone to "evening it up." Everytime my Nucks have 3-4 straight PP's in a row you just know the next one will go against the team that's had all the PP's. Refs will usually call a very, very borderline cheesy penalty to keep the other team happy. Really hate this shit.

Hockey is definitely the hardest sport to ref though due to the speed of the game. Much tougher to always get everything right.

Thanks and yeah the Nucks weren't very sharp yesterday so they may have been looking ahead a little bit.

I know man I'm pumped for tomorrow's game. It's too bad Datsyuk is hurt though if my boys win it will feel semi-tainted

Yeah Pavel being out is a huge loss for sure, but we have some depth at that position. Glad we got Quincy back, I am sure he's probably glad to be back in Detroit. Ken Holland and Yzerman must of worked out that deal without the AV's knowing Still have the angst towards the Avalanche after all these years. Anyways all the talk in Michigan is about how the Sedin boys been talking about breaking the streak so hopefully they have the Wings full attention tomorrow. Kesler and Booth coming home too so I am sure they will be ready.

Haha I forgot about the fierce DET/COL rivalry that used to be. Avs have been shitty for years so that has died down a bit lately.

    Sedins talking shit? No way.

No plays really stand out to me tonight. Liked Sens TT a bit and shoulda played it

Man the Crapitals looked absolutely lost out there in the 1st. No Ovie/Backstrom yeah but the team didn't even bring any intensity at all. Really looks like this team has packed it in for the time being.

    Early, Early Thursday Play

    VAN (+120)

Been planning on doing this all week. Locking it in now, no reason to wait as I think the line drops to around +105 by puck drop tomorrow.

What are your thoughts on the total? I am thinking of doing a reverse with Van and the under. I see them playing a tight checking game, Luongo coming up big for the win.

I'll be on 1st period over for 1-2 units. Can't ignore that they're 1/2 in 1st period scoring this year.

Could see the game ending 3-1, 3-2 though.
