Perhaps a minimum of 200 posts to take part in sbr contests...after about 10 seconds of looking people up i found 3 people with 0 posts in the 256 people contest. So there clearly ghosts and just ruins the competitiveness of the 256 tournament.

Hi B1GERC828,
Good post. SBR rewards its loyal members in many ways, guys that have been around longer have been given greater comps for the SBR Bash, and always will.
As for contests, I don't like the idea of excluding entries based on how long someones been a member or based on their number of posts. There's a lot of new users that may be overwhelmed to dive in with both feet and just want to fire out a post or two here and there that may not have eclipsed the post tallies others have. These people often times will win some $ and get used to the climate here before becoming a full fledged regular.
how do "ghosts" ruin the competitiveness in these tournies? So what if they don't post?

Your right and its all great points. But just part of me feels like...a guy with 4 posts that became a member the day you announced the tournament shouldnt be able to win. But then again your right when someone has only like 50 posts but has been a member for a couple months and posts rarely because their not into the whole forum/posting situation should be able to win and thats fine. Just a weird situation for it i guess. Great tourny though, looking forward to it tomorro!
If i had 10 accounts and i won one a "ghost", would that be fair?

I guess I'm okay either way. If you want to reduce my competition, that benefits me.
I don't actually care if people post though. I told my brother about these contests - because I like my brother and think he could have fun with them - and I went out of my way to recommend he not get involved with the forum. I believe so far he has followed that advice.
An absence of posts does not necessarily mean something fishy is going on. My brother is just a normal dude enjoying the competition like everyone else.

Okay but here's the thing: at some point my brother will probably win some points, so that will lead to me giving a detailed explanation of how those work. Maybe in turn that will lead to him doing the one post-a-day thing to keep earning more of those. Thus he will become exposed to the forum.
It just takes one look at my number of posts to know that there is something in my family genes that makes us prone to getting sucked into this stuff.
Maybe a year from now my brother will be annoying the hell out of the forum with constant threads about his beloved Yankees and generally raising Hoya awareness - and he'll be starting threads complaining about guys in the contests who don't post - meanwhile all face-to-face human contact will have ended for the poor bastard.
This I believe is CrazyLou's grand scheme.
At least I will know I warned him.

Ghosts in contests are fraudulent and hurt SBR, SBR sponsors and the spirit of the contest. Anyone that suspects a ghost should PM a mod.
