NBA - RD 2 (Houlihans vs Therber)
Here are the rules for the 16 man contest:
-On the last 2 days of the round, the player who is ahead must post their plays first (to avoid him just betting the same as the guy trailing). If the guy ahead is waiting till tipoff to post, the guy trailing can pm me his plays and i will post once the games start.
- each player will start with a bankroll of 100 units per round. you will be allowed to bet 15% of your bankroll each day (except for final day of each round - see next bullet). ie, i have 124 units going into a day i can man make up to 19 units (.15 x 124 = 18.6...then round up to 19.....if 18.4, round down to 18) wagered that day. all bets must be minimum of 1 unit. you must make a minimum of 50 plays per round.
- the final day of each round, you are allowed to bet just 8% of your bankroll. this should help eliminate someone chasing on the final day.
- we will be using the opening line from SBR as our lines. if you have a preset book as your opening line, you must log out and use the consensus that sbr has in its "opener" column to the far left. we are only allowed to bet the side or total of a game vs the spread/total. no moneyline wagers and all bets are -110 per 100 bet. if the opening line is way off from the closing (due to injury etc) we still use whatever sbr has listed as the opener. part of being a good capper is finding weak lines and pouncing.
- it is up to you to keep track of your records. i am not the official scorekeeper. though anyone can catch a mistake and let me or the participants know. after each day, there should be an updated unit total in each thread. if a player breaks the daily % rule, then we subtract the units he went over from his most recent play posted. (ie, you're allowed 20 units, but have bet 22 - your last bet posted was lakers for 3 units. that play is now adjusted to lakers 1 unit so please use a calculator and pay attention to what your opponent is posting. you must catch % rule mistakes before the next set of games begin on an upcoming day. errors on lines/totals can be corrected at any time during the round, but we wont worry about how that change affected the total % allowed since it can get too confusing depending on how far we go back for a correction.
- plays must be posted 5 minutes before the start of any game (ie, if 7:05 is the listed start, play must be in by 7:00.) daily % total cant be adjusted going into west coast games. it is what it is going into that day.
- if there happens to be a tie after the round is over, the player with the best % will move on. if there is still a tie, then we use the tiebreaker day listed below where each participant will play each side and total on the board for 1 unit.
- once down to 0 units, you are toast. the participant with the most units is the winner.
- though we will start each round over at 100 units, we will reseed each round based on the total number of units accumulated for each player. win % for that round is used as a tiebreaker for units. ie, going into round 3, we would total the units from round 1 and 2, then reseed. round 1 will be drawn from a hat.
Round 2: 12/1-12/31 (1/1 tiebreaker)
Round 3: 1/2-1/31 (2/1 tiebreaker)
Round 4: 2/2-3/12 (3/13 tiebreaker)
