MLB Friday 7/10 Contest: Guess the pitcher's outing!
Guess the Pitcher's Outing!
Friday, July 10th: Zach Duke @ Philadelphia
Terms
All contestants must PM a The Greek account to VegasDave to be eligible for prize. Open one from link provided here if you don't have one already.
RULES
- I will pick a starting pitcher from a game being played on Friday. Participants will try to guess how long the pitcher's outing will last as well as the details of his outing!
- All entries must be in before the listed game time of 7:05 ET. Any entry at 7:05ET or before will be valid, any entry at 7:06ET or after will NOT COUNT.
- All entries must be in the following format and must be made in THIS THREAD. Any entry that is not in the following format will not be valid;
Innings Pitched:
Earned Runs Allowed:
Strikeouts:
Hits surrendered:
Walks surrendered:
- "Innings Pitched" category should include 1/3s of innings. For example, not only can you select 6 innings and 7 innings, you can also select 6.1, 6.2, 7.1, and 7.2 as well. 6.1 = 6 innings, 1 out, 6.2 = 6 innings, 2 outs, etc.
- Whichever poster can get closest "innings pitched" to how far the pitcher really goes wins. So if one poster guesses 6.2 innings and the pitcher goes exactly 6.2 innings, and no other poster guessed correctly, the poster who guessed 6.2 innings wins.
- Other then innings pitched, all other guesses must be whole numbers (no decimals)
- If no one guesses the exact number, whoever comes closest wins. If the pitcher goes 6.2 innings, anyone who guessed 6.1 innings or 7.0 innings is 1 out away, 6.0 innings or 7.1 innings are two outs away, etc.
- If two (or more) posters are tied in how far they were from guessing the innings pitched, the next tiebreaker is earned runs. So if the pitcher gave up 3 earned runs, 3 runs is exactly correct, 2 and 4 runs are 1 run away, 1 and 5 are 2 runs away, etc.
- If two (or more) posters are still tied after earned runs, the tie-breaking system will continue to strikeouts. If still tied, hits, and then finally walks.
- If two (or more) posters are still tied after all 5 tiebreakers, they will split the prize.
PRIZE
Winner: $25 w/ 3x rollover at The Greek
THIS WEEK'S PITCHER
Zach Duke
Innings Pitched:

All you have to do is put in a number for innings pitched, earned runs, strikeouts, hits, and walks. This will take most people less than 2 minutes.
$25 for 2 minute's work doesn't seem "a little bit not worth it" to me

Just ignore this contest if you don't want to play it. Like Dave said, you can throw 2 minutes out there and type numbers. If not just skip.

I think most people just think the contest is retarded.
Guess the amount of innings a pitcher pitches? Uhh...ok. Pass.

If you have better ideas for contests, please share them and I'll see what I can do to get them into action

Hell, I will play every free contest there is. I don't care if I have to guess how many strippers said pitcher will sleep with after the game.

We went from 5k a month NBA contest, down to 2k a month, then down to 1k a month mlb contest, now mlb contest cancelled they couldnt even handle 1k, now $25 guess how many sunflower seeds the manager will spit out for a game contest.......Yeh, its fun and I LOVE contests just for the competition but wtf is going on......
Maybe we can have a "CONTEST CLUB" where some of us send money to trustworthy moderators so we can actually play for something as well as bragging rights against stains who sign up 4 accounts at a time to play them
If this sounds like a good idea to anyone maybe we can do it?
$500-1k buyin? chop it up into 10 weekly contests for mlb?
There has to be a way we can do it?

At a guess, more contests and less prize money = more chance of getting new people inolved who might not know shit about certain sports.
