Rules
Scoring
- PM Vegas Dave to enter!
- One entry per household. No exceptions.
- Must have 100 posts as of contest starting date to enter.
- MLB Wagers: moneylines, sides, and totals. There will be no price cap; all moneylines, sides, and totals in the the Daily Lines Thread will be playable.
- Picks are 'to win' one unit on favorites, 'risk one' on dogs.
- You may make no more than TWO plays per day. If more than two plays are made for any one day, only the first two plays will stand.
- Players must make a minimum of 20 picks over the course of the contest. If the player does not reach the minimum amount of picks they will be deducted 1 unit for every pick they are short.
- Contestants must use the lines listed in the Daily Lines thread. Lines for MLB games will be posted overnight and the day of game day up to 7PM EST.
- Once you make a pick in the Official SBR Bash Contest Picks Thread, it is final. There will be no editing. Any play that is not in the official thread will not be valid.
- Any past posted plays will NOT be counted. If the scheduled start time per the Daily Lines Thread is 7:30, any plays at 7:31 will be disregarded. Plays at 7:30 will stand. All times listed in the Daily Lines thread are EST.
- The Handicapping Contests subforum automatically prevents any user from 'editing' posts, but in the event of a rare software glitch, any picks posts that are edited will incur a 1.50 unit penalty and count as a loss on their record.
- In the event of a cancellation due to act of God, weather, or other forfeiture, your play will be graded as a push. This push will count towards your minimum requirement but not your maximum. In other words, you will have the option of making another play, but you will not be penalized. Please note that this stipulation only applies to pushes based on event cancellation; ordinary pushes on sides and totals WILL count towards your maximum allowed.
Tiebreakers
- Winners will be decided based on TOTAL UNITS, not W-L record. Whoever has the most units at the end of the contest will be the winner, 2nd most will win 2nd prize, and 3rd most will win 3rd prize. In the event that two players are tied in units, final placing will be decided by the following tiebreakers;
- Whichever poster has more units wins.
- If posters are tied in units, the poster with the greater # of picks wins.
- If posters have the same # of picks, the poster with the higher winning percentage wins.
- If posters are still tied after 1-3, the final tiebreaker will be which player got their picks in sooner on more days. For example, if Poster 1 submits his picks at 1:00PM EST and Poster 2 submits his picks at 12:35AM EST, Poster 2 got his picks in first on that day. Each contest day will be tallied up and whoever got their picks in sooner more often breaks the tie.
