VIP Sports Baseball Bankroll Contest
RULES: • All participants must establish a VIPsports.com account with a minimum $50 balance and send their VIP account number to moderator bigboydan by email at bbd@sbrforum.com. Click HERE to open your VIPsports account now. • All contestants must have at least $50 real money in their VIPsports.com account prior to entering this contest. • 5x rollover and normal VIP Sports bonus terms and conditions apply to all prizes. • Contestants will be required to pick a MINIMUM of 10 games but NO MORE THAN 20 games each month. Three plays max per day, against the MLB Money Line (sides and totals) as established by VIP Sports and as posted each morning in the official contest thread. • Each pick will be graded as a one (1) base unit play against the ML and will be scored appropriately. If you post an incorrect line it will be graded as a loss. If your post is edited in any fashion ALL selections will be graded as a loss. Selections that are past posted will be graded as a loss also. Examples:• All bets have action regardless of changes in starting pitcher. • All contestants start with a monthly “bankroll” of $0 … the three largest “bankrolls” at the end of each month qualify for monthly prizes. The largest total “bankroll” at the end of the regular season qualifies for the Grand Prize. • Assuming VIP Sports account conditions and all contest rules are met (as described above), contestants may enter this contest at any time during the season and remain eligible for both monthly prizes as well as the Grand Prize. However, as this is a bankroll building contest, contestants who play the maximum number of 20 games each month for the entire season may have a stronger opportunity to win prizes. • Check your selections carefully before posting. The rules stated above regarding edited/past posting will be strictly enforced. • Either SBR or VIPsports.com may deny entry or prizes for any contestant with out cause and rules may be modified without prior notice. In addition to airfare and hotel accommodations, the Grand Prize includes:* Coach class airfare paid from anywhere in the continental United States. "Hey guys, I agree with kdmfox about the rule regarding posting incorrect lines. It's probably not a good rule since we are simply playing the action listed and not even adjusting along the way when a starting pitcher is pulled at the last minute for various reasons. That said, it's the rule we've been using and it just didn't seem right to go back and change that rule and refigure those who have also had picks graded as losses up to now. However, technically only one of manly's picks the other day was graded as a loss for the incorrect line posting. The second one (actually his first pick that day) was a loss because it was past posted. I've spoken with manly about this, and I know he wasn't happy with our decision but I do appreciate the professionalism and civility with which he accepted the decision(s) we ultimately had to make. I accept full blame and responsibility for the mistakes we've made with this contest. Some things we simply didn't foresee and other things we didn't do a very good job with in the first place. We've learned from our mistakes and I'm certain we will have a much smoother running contest next season with fewer gotcha's. I thank all of you for participating and grinding along with us through the long MLB season." |

wow kdm your really full of yourself? if i could i would shake your hand in honor of having the privelage to post on the same forum as you
That said, it's the rule we've been using and it just didn't seem right to go back and change that rule and refigure those who have also had picks graded as losses up to now. that sums it up right there |

also i did mention about 2 months into this contest when i realized you could make picks on games that had a scratched pitcher and that is a huge advantage to the player they explained the rules i lived with it. then started using it to my advantage but i was about 2 months late maybe i can get all the juicy lines for those 2 months i missed? and willie if you post a answer to this i will copy and paste into fridays pick thread to make sure all can see LOL!
willie you guys do a good job and the fact you enforce rules and stick with them is what makes the contest accurate and consistent! thanks |

I've only made a few comments on this, but now I think its time to put this one behind us. We have all played by the same rules since the beginning, as I stated earlier it was the timing of Manly's mistake that was unfortunate.
Several posters have used the rules or lack of specific rules to their advantage, specifically on August 2nd there was a pitching change in a day game between Texas and Minnesota where Liriano was listed - 220/+ 190 total of 8o + 100, Liriano was scratched, line was never adjusted and several posters (BigDaddy - side and total, Illusion - side, Ganchow - side and total, Manly - side/total, all had the intelligence, time, and ability to make this pick with a tremendous amount of value in a contest of this magnitude. At the time, I did not hear anyone complain about this - those are the rules we play with, so why should this be any different |
