Siding/Middling -diverted-
http://forum.sbrforum.com/players-ta...-diverted.html
you mean Sided the bet? Middles is when you when both wagers.. Over 2 and Under 2.5 and the total landed on 2 you sided the bet and Middle is when you give them the "DOUBLE PENETRATION" eg. NFL playing -6.5 and +7.5 and the game landed on a 7

I've always used the term "middle" to describe both. In this case it would be a "half-point middle".
The fact is that even if you insist on calling it "siding" it's nevertheless a weak form of you middling, and the mathematics of the two are equivalent for the purposes of the original post.
Anyway, whatever you choose to call it, I think the point is clear.

for general term yes, but if you tell someone you middled a game. it wouldn't be that general, if you playing for $10k per side. The term can be a difference of winning $10k or $20k

Then I guess the trick is this: don't brag about your bets.

That's just where we'll have to differ.
Personally, I think players should just shut up, do their thing, and not worry so much about crowing to to the world about how much money they've made.

All depends on who you are posting with on whether you brag or not. Here, I'm an attention whore when I win. Elsewhere, I keep my mouth shut.

Looks like I'm missing something here. What middle or side did you hit?

m3vr6 is saying that it's important to distinguish between siding and middling so that if you win $20,000 on a middle you can brag about it without having to worry that other people might think you only made $10,000.

How often has anyone hit both sides of a soccer game--side or total.? You're splitting hairs, when you know exactly what the poster is talking about.
Thanks for explaining the proper usage of middling to me (and Ganch). Now we all know.

usually when people go for sides/middles they go large. so when someone say 'i middled a game' i always assumed they won both sides. and when i ask them what was the line,. said 3 and 3.5pts in NFL, with this number you can only side and not middled.

I personally use side and middle to indicate the difference.. This does create an interesting circumstance where you have a double side (u180/o179), or a middle/side (o180/u181.5) or some combination.
It makes it somewhat clearer, but its really immaterial since you need to lines and prices to explain what you got the side on. The part about "right to bragg" is really horrible and makes like no sense.

M3:
Still semantics. If I get a win and a push on a middle, I'll say I hit a partial middle and my betting buds will get the general idea. If I say I "sided", they would have no idea what I meant. And if I used your term of "double penetration", they would think I was watching a porno. Let's keep it simple; we're not all as smart as you.
