When betting early in the week, betting teams +2.5, +6.5, +9.5, and +13.5 in football can be n horrendous mistakes. Unless you are a world class bettor, I would say, NEVER bet these numbers.
If you lose line value and have to take +2, or +9, no big deal mathematically. But if the line moves the other way, you have literally just donked away your chips, having essentially bet a game -110 you should have bet -100. I have been involved with several succesful betting groups in the past, and I can say that the one thing that would have us literally screaming at each other is when someone threw a +2.5 bet into the pot, when we could get +3 or better. The guy would try to defend it, but the truth is one crappy bet like this will sandbag a good portfolio of 4 others. You cannot win if 20% of your bets at 47.5% bets.......because now your other bets have to win at over 54% just to win. One lemon in a portfolio (under 48% -110), is DEVASTATING to a bottom line expectation.
