Is there any research done on what percentage of favorites or underdogs when when a line is set at a certain number.... for example, if the line is 7, what % of favorites win or if the line is 6 what % of favorites win.

also, i am still new to this and am trying to get a grasp on it. i am trying to understand units to get better with this. i realize a unit is like the amount you set as your bet in comparison to a bankroll but like if a line is -110, then you are betting 110 to win 100... what is the unit? the 110 that you bet or the 100 that you won? i see a lot of people saying that they bet a certain amount of units with the chance of winning like a random number of units (i.e. 2.342 units).
