    FIB relationships

Has anyone done any research on starting pitcher's FIB or xFIB and it's relationship to a team winning or losing?

I am further curious about FIB, and a team's RPI.

If anyone has done this sort of research or tracking, what other statistics do you consider?

I want to use this information to build a model for upcoming series to determine an underdogs chance of winning.

    Thank you.

There is a field within baseball called "sabermetrics" devoted to advanced baseball statistics. Maybe they have done some research on that.

Also I think the Oakland A's are currently writing the script for Moneyball the sequel.

    do you mean FIP?

FIP is used in fWAR so it should be relatively easy to translate to wins/losses, or just project FIP to runs allowed over 162 games and use the pythagorean expectation
