Well that surprised me. I don't bet NBA much so I hadn't really looked into the numbers before, but I remember reading an article when I first started gambling saying that 7 was a key number in NBA. Guess not.

Certainly not to the extent that there is in the NFL.

Do you happen to have that push frequency data for first half totals in the NBA and if not..........how accurate is simply doubling the frequency of the corresponding game totals divided by 2. I assume there is a close correlation as I noticed pinnacle simply doubles vig for half point movements for first half totals.

Thanks as always for the great help

Sorry, but I do not have ready access to first and second half line data.

I can't imagine that dividing totals by 2 would predictive as much more than a first order approximation.

So based on that chart, I see -5 has 4.30% chance of pushing. So this is a key number, yea?

Reason 5-11 push more is because of games coming down to the wire, and free throws come into play. Last 2 minutes of games are very slow. Teams start to take more three pointers, the ones that are down, and the teams that are up are getting free points with freethrows.
Atleast that is my thoughts. That is why I usually take dogs with numbers 4-9, and favorites 1-3...I'm sure if you did a database check, it wouldn't show much. But I'm also on those plays because I'm looking at the teams playing, and not the 10k games that have played before where I would have made a pick on 500 of the 10000.
