Default Box Office Grosses for 11-10 to 11-12

4 new movies and 2 movies expanding to more screens.

    1. "A Good Year" Russell Crowe reunites with Ridley Scott for a romantic, feel good movie. I'll pass. (2,000 screens)
    2. "Babel" This movie was released last week and is expanding to 1,225 screens this weekend. As much as I want to see this film...it ain't doing over 9.5 million.
    3. "Borat" This picture killed their numbers last week taking more than twice their estimates proving that market research isn't 100% accurate. I think "Borat" will hold onto their No. 1 spot but I don't think it will do over 31.5 million. (2,500 screens)
    4. "Harsh Times" - 880 screens
    5. "Stranger than Fiction" New Will Ferrell movie. Could be his lowest grossing picture to date. (2,200 screens)
    6. "The Return" - 1,800 screens

I find it interesting that Pinnacle is now taking action on pictures that are currently playing. What's next? 1st week DVD sales?

Crow and Ferrell's films will go over IMO. I also agree that Borat will go under this week.

Going under on the Ferrel film. Borat will be the dominant comedy and take away his usual audience.

Keep in mind, Borat was only on 830+ screens last week, so it is going to be on 1700 new screens this week,

Yeah I'd say the hype on Borat's over. Plus it's not the type of movie you'd go see twice. I also think StF will go over. I've seen more trailers for this movie than any of the other movies.

Every total went under. Is this the Borat effect?

I like the Bond film to go over 37.5 this weekend.
