Box Office Forecast for Oct. 6th to 8th

Three new movies this weekend. "The Departed" showcases an all star cast. Another stupid "Texas Chainsaw" movie and Jessica Simpson starring in another comedy..."Employee of the Month". Here are my picks:

1. Employee of the Month - 2,500 + screens - Under 10 million
2. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 2,800 screens - Under 20.5 mil
3. The Departed - 3,000 + screens - Over 22 million

We agree on 1 & 3 but I think TCM will have a big weekend. The last one did really well as I recall. I have a feeling The Departed will get bet up pretty fast so bet it early if you like it.

I am not sure on box office, but Employee of the Month looks likes absolute

I put 3 units on the over for The Departed. I feel this will fly over 22 mil. The early reviews have been great. And the few sneak peekers have given it high marks as well.

No doubt about the over on The Departed. I'm wishing I'd wagered more. I'm pretty sure the other two will come in under.

Tchocky, did you happen to catch the closing numbers to any of them?

The Departed was hanging around -250ish but I noticed TCM was jumping all over the place.

No...I didn't wager much this past weekend. I wasn't really following the line. Both "The Departed" & "Employee of the Month" beat their number and Texas Chainsaw missed their number.
