Box Office Forecast for 9-22
Four new movies this weekend. I like the Over on "All the King's Men" & "Flyboys". I'm biased because I'm planning to see both movies and I think 6 million is a conservative number. I like the under on "Jackass" & "Fearless". 21 million is a very high number for "Jackass" in my opinion even though the 1st one did well. "Fearless" is a pick as far as I'm concerned. I see that movie doing between 8 and 10 million it's 1st weekend.

I am glad you brought these threads back. I like betting on movies occasionally.

Jackass will fly over the total. I have no opinion on the others.

Do you know how many theatres each will be shown in?

I saw Fearless a year ago. It was filmed in China and I think it will be mostly either dubbed or subtitle like that recent Tony Jaa movie. Granted it will be Jet Li's last movie so I'm sure all Jet Li's fan will turn out to watch this one. It's also nothing like the recent movies North American viewers are used to seeing Jet Li in. I'm glad he stuck with his grass root in making his exit movie and I'm sure lots of people will like this movie.

Jackass is now -240 on the over. I do like the over on this but can't lay that much juice. I also like the unders on the rest:
AtKM -136, Flyboys -142 & Fearless +118

Good luck, I can't bet on these personally, but crazy how that Jackass line soared like that. Talk about a nice freeroll hedge if somebody bought it early.

I put a play in for the over earlier in the week and got +128. Wish I would have watched the lines a little closer or I could have backed that up. Never thought there would be so much movement or I would have kept an eye on it.

Friday's estimates:
Jackass - $11.6 mil
Fearless - $3.5
Flyboys - $1.8
AtKM - $1.2
If these numbers hold it'll be over, over, under & under respectively.

Where do you get these numbers, "darkghost"? I don't get my numbers until Sunday afternoon which is pretty much the final number.

The site I use is on and off about showing the Friday estimates meaning sometimes they'll post it and sometimes they won't. It's leemovieinfo.com. I'll try to post up a link later.
Here's Sunday's estimate:
Jackass - $28.1 mil
Fearless - $10.6
Flyboys - $6.0
AtKM - $3.8
If you bet Flyboys looks like you have some sweating to do.
