I like Georgia Tech again, but I wasn't fast enough to get 7.5, it moved to +7. The Cal -13 really jumped out at me so I grabbed that quick. Thoughts on Cal - Maryland?

Good luck out there this week. I hope Painter remembers how to throw and that O-line figures out how to block this week. Should be an interesting game and although I hope you're right I'll likely fade my Boilers for a couple bucks.

Keep up the great work as always.

Hey Pags,

There sure is value in GT again isn't there? I am surprised GT is getting such little respect from Vegas.

I also love Fresno to give Wisconsin fits.

Best of luck.

I was doubting Cal a bit Saturday but had no idea how wretched Washington State was.

Cal will score 35 on anyone. Bigtime playmakers in Best and Vereen at running back. Riley can manage the game so he does not have to be spectacular at QB for the Bears. Cal's defense can be inconsistent.

I have not watched Maryland play yet but they seem mediocre at best. I LOVE the Bears in this one at 13.5 and will take them at 14. Cal staff knows all too well how the rankings went to their heads last year. They will lose some games but will not wilt like last year.

Roll on you Bears......

Like the GT and Rice picks... Vandys 2ndary got banged up last week against SC.

Any thoughts on Kansas or UCLA?

Love Fresno. One I've had my eye on for months. Biggest game for them in years -- at home under the lights on national television against a top 10 team with a realistic shot at a BCS game if they can get by this hurdle. Wisky hasn't traveled well out west in recent years (UNLV last season and Arizona a few years back being prime examples), and it's Evridge's first road test with the Badgers. Also not a Wisky team built to handle speed, with Illinois and Michigan State, really the only teams in the Big 11 with superior team speed, both gashing them on the ground for well over 200 yards a season ago. Pat Hill lives for these games, always ready whenever he gets a chance against a big-time program. Wisky's top 10 ranking is completely undeserved, and the superior, better coached team is catching points at home here. I have Fresno -6 as an accurate line for this game, and I think they pull away and win by 2 scores.

Good luck this week, pags.

hoff,

I still think Ga. Tech at +7 is a solid play...I think that Maryland is pretty terrible right now, but I'm not interested in laying two TD's with Cal on a cross country trip...GL to you...

wassymac,

I'll take an interesting game, I'm sure it will have it's twists and turns...as long as Painter and crew have a shot in the fourth quarter that's really all I can ask...GL this week bud...

martin,

your sharp analysis is welcome in my thread anytime...I still think Va. Tech is a public team and people haven't really bought into Ga. Tech yet...we know Paul Johnson and what he does...let's take it and roll with it...I do think Fresno matches up well with Wisconsin...they still have to do it on the field, but we will take our chances with them...

kid,

thanks very much...GL to you as well...

streamline,

yes, I've seen some +1.5 too...anytime you can get a plus instead of a minus next to the team your playing it helps, no matter how small the number...GL this week...

ice,

you could be right or Fresno could be 2 point favs by the time Dr. Bob gets a hold of this game...we will see as the week unfolds...BOL to you...

buckeye,

good to hear we will be on those games together...I anticipate the Kansas and South Florida game being a great game...check the health status of USF's running backs and also two defensive players for Kansas that got hurt yesterday...the number seems about right to me...I played BYU as you will see above...

rjt,

good to have you back in one of my threads...I hope that you are well...agree very much with your thoughts on the Wisconsin vs. Fresno St. game...GL to you as well this week...

rossa,

I don't mind at all if you tail me all season, just take the good with the bad...thanks man and GL to you...

Pags, you know i'll follow you in this week, but i must say i can't wait to see your write ups this week.. I live in S.C. Love my gamecocks!! GO to every home game.. But we were horrible in the 2nd half last week.. I was taking them regaurdless because of my heart, but feel a lot better knowing a quality capper likes them also.. GL this week and lets win some money..

I'll be interested to read your write up on the BYU game. I really expected the line to be less than 7 in this one. If this game was last week, I'd have taken BYU. But 9 points seems like a lot to give to BYU. Their defense blows...and Norm Chow will take advantage. UCLA has had an extra week to prepare for this one.

gopherbroke,

thanks bud...GL to you too this week...that avatar of iceman's is pretty nice isn't it?...

white_tiger,

thank you...BOL to you as well this week...

odu,

always good to hear from you...yeah, last week was tough but Vandy seems to match up pretty well with South Carolina...in turn, I think South Carolina matches up pretty well with Georgia...will explain more in my write-up later in the week...GL to you my friend...

crackerjack,

excellent thoughts here...you make some good points regarding the game, but say they would have set the line at 7, how much BYU action do you think they would have?...oddsmakers are making you pay for BYU here, and while it has trended downward to 8, I think this game will fluctuate between 7.5 and 9.5 all week...BYU played an excellent game last week but their track record of covering on the road (bad) vs. at home (good) is pretty well documented...plus BYU wont have to try and defend Washington's Jake Locker this week...will explain my reasoning in more detail in my write-up later this week...GL to you...

What a moose on the florida game last week, wish I had your line...
Why the hell kick a FG when your up like 20 points and the game is over, that´s just classless. Good luck this week Pags, I´m with you on all the plays!
I saw that you increased your unitsize this week, is this because you tread lightly the first few weeks or are you just more confident in this weeks games?

As always, Thank you for the hard work!

Pags, just an FYI:

Miss St. is going to be starting a 5'9" middle line backer this week that weighs 195. He will be replacing Jamar Chaney.

race,

yes, that game was sickening...it's all part of my money management system for the season, I do tread lightly at the beginning and end of the season...you should be able to look up archived thread where I explain things in detail...GL bud...

awhite,

good to hear you like those three...the lowest I would play Rice is 7, I wouldn't play it any lower than that...regarding Baylor I don't understand why they are a dog, but I have no interest getting involved in the game...GL to you...

bear,

thanks for the info...as long as Pegues plays and the cowbells are ringing strong I'm willing to back MSU...GL...

wire,

yeah, ECU really brought it last week...I'll explain more in my write-up with the South Carolina game for sure...GL to you as well brother...

masr,

thanks for your thoughts...I'll definitely enjoy the Ohio St. vs. USC game...GL to you...

cashflow,

appreciate it my friend...good to hear we will be riding together with those to...BOL to you as well...

Pags,

Consistently good work as always....let me go against you on another high-powered team though....ala Missouri & Texas Tech! Oregon will pound Purdue! The Boilers are very soft and are struggling to field linebackers this year! I'm a Hoosier and I'm pretty well up to date on our teams! Oregon won't have any problem w/the spread defensively and will be able to pound the ball which will open up their own passing game! I really think they take this by 17 or more! I love Fresno though....Wisky is a paper tiger as always! GL & Thanks!

thank you very much sir...I appreciate you saying that...GL this week...

mr. handicapable,

always much easier to come in after the fact and tell me you went against me in the other two games...I do respect your comments and respect that you are coming in BEFORE the game to tell me you are on the other side...cross country trip for a young Oregon team vs. one of the best QB's in the country...stranger things have happened my friend...GL to you...

I noticed that the BYU and Purdue lines each moved a full point, from 8.5 and 8, respectively.

This is more of a philosophy question, but do you ever take a little more when this happens, or just let it ride at the number you got?

Thanks.
