Petrino leaves Falcons for Arkansas
This should be the last shred of evidence that college and NFL are two totally different games

I hate it when coaches leave before the end of their contracts are finished. This is another good reason to root for Missou in the Cotton.

he was probably pissed after last nights game, cause Redman was the star QB at UofL when he was the offensive cord., and Redman put up great #'s, now he helped bring Redman back in the NFL cause those other 2 QB's the Falcons have ain't gettin it done, Redman hadn't started a game in like 5 years, but yet he was hitting guys all night long right in the hands and they kept dropping them. Redman got no protection, guys in his face, yet still putting the ball on the money, and guys dropping it.
Petrino just had to figure out the hard way that college kids play harder than pros, cause the college kid is trying to get to the pros and they have pride, most guys in the pros have no pride, its just "wheres my paycheck".

What a classless jerk this guy is...
---
"He just said to us, 'Guys I've resigned, I'm going to Arkansas. I'm sorry. I'll be talking with you guys in the future.' And with that he turned and walked out the door. We haven't been told anything else," one assistant coach told Glazer.
At this point, the assistant coaches have not been told who will be coaching the team going forward.
Petrino did not address the Falcons following his resignation. Players are livid with the way Petrino left the team and several called his handling of the situation "classless."

Umm...can anyone seriously blame him??? The guy took the job thinking that Mike Vick was going to be the star QB there. To top it off, they didn't have Schaub to start and had to rely on one of the worst QBs in NFL history in Joey Harrington. To make matters worse, the Falcon's franchise looks so far behind, that it is going to take at leasat 5-7 years to get out of this mess. Why would Petrino want to be there.....with Vick gone, had nothing to work with.
I am surprised he lasted this long....

He did not owe them a damn thing. Between Hall and Crumpler and the rest of the sorry asses on that team, who would want to coach them. They are a bunch of sorry ass overpaid
----- that suck plain and simple.

There may be some rotten apples on the team, but still to not even address the players following his resignation is not the mark of a classy guy. He bailed on Louisville after his 1st year of a 10 yr deal too, now announces his resignation after the 13th game of the season, he's a quitter. I hope Arkansas didn't sign him to a multi-year deal, because that's wasting paper.

Serious lack of class, if you ask me. How hard would it have been to announce this not after week 14, but after week 17?
I guess he preferred to spend Christmas with his family instead. And he's supposed to teach college athletes 'character'? Gimme a break.

Maybe he can do a grad class in Finance (The Art of Taking the Money & Hauling Ass) or Business Law (How to End a Multi-Year Contract Before Completing Year One). He's a complete jerk for doing that and not even having the cojones to tell his players. He couldn't control what Michael Vick did, but he can control his actions, and these actions scream gutless, yellow-bellied jellyfish in my book.

Petrino and Saban make great examples for college athletes who are looking for role models to follow: When the going gets tough, get the hell outta there and look for a better deal. Screw your team and your teammates.

HAll and crumpler all but define classless. Now hall is changing his tune in recent TV interviews. What a 2 faced liar.
Arkansas just got what they paid for, a coach that will quit on you when the goin gets a lil tough, have fun recruiting bobby, who would want their son associated with that. All in all this is a complete mess, look for the falcons to take the dolphins lossing streak record next year.

Disagree with this. NFL players are professionals. They can handle this I am sure. Most of them go home and have a wife and kids and are involved in many other things besides football. So what the coach quit...it's not uncommon in the "real world" for such things to happen. These guys are big boys, most of them probably don't even care one way or another....the only people who care are fans/posters, players care very little.

He is probably going to get to Arkansas just in time to realize McFadden is going to go pro and then quickly quit and move on to another school.
