But, I understand. The reason I started posting on this forum versus most of the others was there wasn't so much crap to pass through, like "my $10,000 lock" in every other post. Instead there was just good info about the industry and some solid handicappers, like yourself and Jay Edgar for example.

Now there's just endless crap here, though I'm no so sure that is SBR's fault of what they can do about it. This is still the best place to come for info on books. Good luck.

oh, and for the record, the sbrlines archive doesn't pick up the actual opener more often than it does. I'm not sure what the issue is, but you can't trust it.

Mods, IT CAN STILL BE CHANGED. I like this board, but in all honesty, there are maybe 10-15 posters here that I even remotely respect, in terms of actual capping ability. Some of the newer peeps may come in and prove their worth, but for the most part, there are a lot of blowhards coming on here and spouting nonsense. And finally, pags is right: those of you who play at reputable books should be able to get similar, if not the same, lines that pags gets. We all know when his plays are going up on SBR forums.

Pags, I hate to see you go but I completely understand your reasoning. A lot of money has been made by many players tailing you. In addition to my own plays, I almost always tail your plays (the only exceptions being when I'm just too damn late or when I simply disagree). When the lines go up, I usually see a couple lines that make me think "I bet pags is going to be on that one"... What I'm saying is that by watching you work, I know I've been able to refine my own early line analysis. Again, it would be a shame to see you leave as you are a true asset to the board.

I think you are utilizing pags the correct way. I don't like hearing people tail blindly. If you're using Money Mgmt it's good but a lot of people don't.


For example,

Lets say Pags goes 2-4 on early plays and has one play in a night game, a lot of guys will double their bet on the play to attempt to get even.

Well shucks... I appreciate the sentiment from you gentlemen. I'll try to be more vocal on the board, since most of the recent additions probably think I'm a blowhard considering I haven't been posting too many plays... There are reasons, but most notably, I have a daughter that just became mobile and am finishing up my MBA, so there are the requisite 30 page papers/presentations going on right now. My bigger bets are all coming from "The League" as NCAAF lines are, for the most part, just too sharp right now and NFL seems to be much easier to read at the moment. I'm starting to get a pretty good grasp on pro hoops, but still trying to get a grasp on NCAABB. I'll put my money where my mouth is and resume posting my plays. I won't even begin to fill the void created by pags' departure, but hey, at least I'm not the shark.

P.S. Pags-Please reconsider. We need you pal.

I have to say as I was sweating out Central Florida +6.5 in college hoops tonight (an eventual loser by a point and a half), it was kind of nice thinking to myself that I wouldn't have to worry about a posted play I had and if it lost, whether or not the mods would get off there ass if someone came in and bashed me for making a good play that ultimately lost...

on a side note, I love that little guard for UCF, he's money...I know that this is the college football forum, but I just had to mention that...

my thoughts remain the same...once SBR cleans this place up and KEEPS it cleaned up I'll reconsider...until then, no way...

on another side note...this is the only forum I've ever been involved with where the moderators are more concerned with being everyone's friend and/ or showing everyone they are a good capper, rather than actually doing their jobs...I find it interesting...

Pags, Your insight and weekly picks will be greatly missed. I started following you last year in Col. B-ball and must say you are good at what you do. I learned alot reading your write ups and watching how you manage your money(which I sucked at before) and if you dont come back I just wanted to say thanks. I have been doing alot better this year (not just coat tailing your plays) because of all the info you give. If you decide to go to another forum let me know, I will follow. Yeah, I know of a forum that is waaay more popular than SBR that would gladly accept pags plays. I spoke with the head mod there just the other day and he told me that he would gladly ban or put anyone on post review who bashed him.
