I like him when he's not doing games involving PAC-10 teams. His unbridled support of Oregon and USC in these bowl games has been really difficult to listen to. Fouts is much better, and even though he is a PAC-10 guy, he isn't overly biased in his analysis.

Didn't Keith Jackson "retire" like 5 years ago? I thought he did a tearful final game, and all kinds of people made farewell cameo appearances.

He did. He retired because he got into a dispute with the head of ABC sports over his schedule. They either worked it out or someone else came in, because a couple of months after he retired, they announced he was back. He wanted to just do games on the West Coast and not travel, which he's done for the last 5 years. He only does the national title game if it's the Rose Bowl.
I like Keith Jackson better than Dick Enberg. Now Enberg should retire. He's terrible because he's too old to call games, yet he gets a pass from the media and CBS because of name recognition. Listen to his games and count the mistakes on names and yard-markers. These guys are so used to traveling all the time, they likely just don't want to go home and do nothing. They'd go crazy.

Keith Jackson absolutely needs to retire for real immediately.
Dan Fouts sounds like a complete dork and has since day one in the booth.
Together they are utterly painful to listen to.

On a side note, I'm really starting to like Mike Tirico more and more. I'm glad ABC gave him a chance to call a big bowl game.

Steve Phsioc
Ron Franklin
Brent Musburger
Marc Jones
Joel Meyers
best color guys:
Tim Brant, this guy is absolutely underrated and awesome
Bob Davey (he does get monotonous sometimes, but still good)
Mike Gottfried (has trouble annunciating, but still very good)
Kirk Herbstreit
Bill Curry
the guy on TBS late games, forget his name, but he's awesome
Chris Speilman
Andre Ware
Jimmy Dykes
worst announcers or color guys/ girls:
Pam Ward
Mike Tomzack
Dan Fouts (just don't like him, don't know what it is)
Vern Lunquist

thank god Im not the only one to notice. Keith Jackson was at one time on the top shelf of his game, hell he even did Monday Night Football for a while. Now, Keith is old REAL old and it shows. He makes aweful mistakes doesn't notice fumbles and sees things that aren't there. The time has come for him to retire its almost embarrasing.

Keith Jackson is the voice of my youth...I don't pay any attention to anything he says unless it's Woe Nellie!...Kattie Bar The Door!
Vin Scully wants to make me slit my wrists...that guy can talk none stop...not pausing to take a breath..jumping from subject to subject without changing the inflection of his voice. My being a Giants guy probably has something to do with my Scully issues.

Good list but Mike Tirico really embarrassed himself with partisian broadcasting during the Alamo Bowl....Mike Tomzack is really really bad....but I think Chris Spielman and Andre Ware are really good...upcoming stars in the booth.
Bob Davie is turning out to be a better broadcaster than a head football coach.

Keith Jackson is good I think. Kirk Herbstreit is the best!! He is a genius. I
remember him when he played college ball for OHIO STATE he was a smart
QB.. And hey onlooker your chick Erin Andrews is on the sidelines in the michigan
