Nebraska @ Kansas
Kansas favored by 17 at home against the Huskers. Kansas is 8-0 SU and 7-0 ATS this year (I believe one game was against a Div 1-AA so it wasn't on the board). What do you think? Seems like 17 is a bit much. Nebraska needed that win last week, they had Texas on the road and on the ropes, but failed to deliver. Thoughts everyone?

I'm glad you brought this game up. I was getting ready to post my comments. I must say that I am very impressed with the Kansas team and I'm not sure I have seen a bunch of kids so well coached. They are definitely bought in to Mangino's system. With that said, I believe I have to go against the hawks this week. Not that I think they will lay an egg, I just believe that this will be a very low scoring game and will be a defensive battle. I really expected the line to be around 10. I feel that KU will dominate the game in all aspects, but I don't feel that Nebraska will ever be that far out of it.

Yup Keller is done, i dunno about this game i could see Kansas up by 20 all game and give up a meaning less TD at the end of the game ill see where the line goes, ill check up on the backup Husker qb.

Huskers R done
As a Nebraska fan, sadly, I would bet it all on Kansas. Keller is out for good. The defense cannot stop the run or an average two-minute drill. I agree with "Reverse" that Kansas may give up a meaningless TD at the end, but don't bet on it. Nebraska destroyed Kansas annually. Besides the loss to KU in 2005, last time NU lost to them was 1961. Kansas would love to humiliate NU. Kansas will roll and cover.

KU will win this game big. -17 might even be safe if this game was in Lincoln. KU could easily have 300 yards rushing in this game. I didn't think I would ever see this, but KU-17 over NU is great bet. Also love Iowa State +14.5 (if you can still get it there) over KSU. I am waiting to see the ML on this game. I think ISU could win this game outright let alone cover.

Stay Away.
I watch a lot of Big 12 football and I have Kansas winning by about 14-20 pts. I see better plays elsewhere.
btw: the only reason Nebraska hung around with Texas is because they did not figure out that running and Zone-Reads are money vs Nebraska till the 3rd quarter.

I'm not sure what it will mean for your plays on this game, but I saw this in a newspaper today:
"There has been speculation that Bill Callahan's job at Nebraska is in jeopardy. The Huskers (4-5, 1-4 Big 12) have lost four straight for the first time since 1961. In a recent TV interview, interim athletic director Tom Osborne responded to a question by saying, 'That will depend somewhat on the new coaching staff ...'"
It looks to me like there's chaos at Nebraska. They may be throwing in the towel. I have trouble betting on a team like that. I would lean toward Kansas. But I probably will not be betting this game.
(By the way, mv09, I'm interested in your thoughts on Missouri/Colorado.)

Kan W 40-15 '05 at home vs NB and NB has allowed at least 40 4X TY to OkSt, Miz, Ball St, and USC.
Kan has scored 58,55,45,62, and 52 at home TY vs weak opps, but besides that point, they score at home. Kan or no bet.

I like Texas in this game. Texas has been a real disappointment this year, but I think they have enough to beat OSU by a good 10 pts. OSUs pass defense is pretty bad. If they cant get any pressure on McCoy, I can see him putting up 3 bills and 3 TDs.
My Big 12 games (in order): Bolded are the only ones id consider betting on though
OU -20
Texas -3
Nebraska +19
Tech -21

Rock Chalk Jayhawks/Game of the Week
Didn't see this thread...started another one on Kansas/Nebraska. I've been busy and didn't get a chance to get Kansas any lower than 19 but I'm still going to pound it!
Trust me KU is for real! They have 2 solid RBs and a mobile QB that will run all over the Huskers. Nebraska is running in a new QB on top of that? It will get ugly and Kansas needs to pound them to keep up in the BCS! Now I doubt Kansas is good enough to beat Okie State, Missouri, and Oklahoma (Big 12 Championship) but they're no South Florida pretender either! Kansas 46-17

Their QB is also about 5'9". If you keep him in the pocket, he can be contained.

Dear Mr Aggie
I'm not from Kansas or a Jayhawk fan in general but I know a underrated moneymaker when I see one! If you watched last week then you know what a ass kicking that was for a 19-11 score. The Aggies may have stood like idiots for the entire game but they weren't kissing their girlfriends much! The male cheer captains didn't help either? Why so many stupid traditions at that school anyway? Doesn't matter whether their QB is a midget as long as he can hand off this Saturday. The Aggies beat down Nebraska by 22 on the road so what is a superior Kansas team going to do at home....against a unproven QB in his first start no less?

On the earlier post that there is speculation about Callahan's job at Nebraska. There is NO speculation....when they brought back Osbourne then Callahan was long gone! Their kids gave it a good shot against a overrated Longhorn squad but they shot their wad! Cmon Texas lost by 20 at home to K-State so how much does it mean by playing them close. Oklahoma is #5 in the nation but did they win in Boulder like Kansas? Kansas will lay the wood this Saturday by 4 TDs or more!

I disagree guys. This Nebraska team is pathetic and the perennial doormat Kansas will take pleasure in running the score up in which I think they will.
Kansas 48
Nebraska 17

It's at 20.5 at some places now...I think I'll keep waiting and take Nebraska. I still think 3 touchdowns is too much for Kansas against Nebraskas.

i can't figure out why the line is up to 20-20.5 ,but almost 70% of the bettors are on Nebraska, according to some places i've looked.

Probably because bookies have it figured as a Kansas blowout and are just trying to entice more and more people.

This will be a Nebraska bloodletting! KU will make up for years of asskickings and run it up, especially with Keller out. Jayhawks by 28.

I would still take KU even at 20 now. Trust me, KU will have close to 300 yards rushing in this game. NU is pathetic. The only way this game stays close and by close I mean 2 or 3 TD's is if Slashahan pulls the same crap he did at USC. Play not to get blown out and then try to put late TD's when the game is in hand. This could be a backdoor game, but I think KU will pull away by 28 deep into this game. I think the best Big 12 game to bet on this weekend is Iowa State now at +15.5. I think ISU has a decent chance of winning this outright or at least keeping it within a TD. ISU almost beat OU in Ames a few weeks ago and played really well in Columbia last week. MU is a much better team than KSU and that game was in Columbia. ISU is a great play here.

I've had better college seasons but for some reason I've had a good read on Nebraska and Southern Miss all year...9-0 ATS combined! Nebraska blew their wad last week and the 98 lb. weakling Jawhawks hit the gym and they remember all the wedgies from the Huskers and will be looking for payback tomorrow. Most people seem to doubt Kansas (7-0 ATS), but nobody doubts Oklahoma and how did they do in Boulder this year? They also punished Texas A&M on the road last week, led 19-0 in the 4th quarter and it could've been much worse if not for 3 short missed FGs. The same Aggies that beat Nebraska in Lincoln by 22! Kansas 45 Nebraska 16

I played the Huskers for BTP, but the more I think about it the more I think this is a trap. That being said, I played the Jayhawks -20 for four units.
