Thurs-Fri Parlay...should hit
Air Force +7 1/2
Fresno State +3 1/2
Boston College +3 1/2
Don't know what it pays. Will be decent though.
--------------------------------
Someone got their panties all bunched up because this parlay is on "opposite" sides of other plays I made. So, I am posting those plays here so you can see for yourself. Personally, I don't understand what the big ****ing deal is. This post was made just after game time, or maybe just before I dont really remember. The post above was made at 9:00 AM. This play was a hedge for the plays listed here:
I just saw this post. I have VA Tech - 2 1/2 (straightbet) and VA Tech / Boston Coll UNDER 42 (straightbet)
I also have Boston College +9 1/2 and Fresno State +9 1/2 on a 2 team teaser.
I also have a 3 pick parlay
VA Tech -2 1/2,
VA Tech / Boston Coll UNDER 42 and the
NHL Rangers on the moneyline (I think they are called the rangers...the new york team anyway)

It pays out at +455.429 at Bookmaker.
I'll point out that for a Kelly bettor to choose to allocate an appreciable portion of his bankroll on the 3-team parlay in preference to the single bets, either betting limits would need to be extremely low relative to bankroll or the EV on the 3 underlying bets would need to be stretching-the-bounds-of-believability huge.
For a fractional Kelly bettor this effect would become even more pronounced.

What's just for fun?
Do you mean picking both sides of a single game in different threads and then only bumping the one that wins?

Just for fun = small bet relative to bankroll size.
The parlay was a hedge on my straight bet on VT. You are familiar with the concept of a hedge? Right?
I'm not sure what "bumping" means, you can't change a parlay already placed.
The two pick parlay I added for tonight has nothing to do with VT or the first parlay for that matter, so I'm not sure what your point is.

I understand you're new to sports betting in general and to posting on handicapping forums in a particular.
As such, I'm sure it was little more than an oversight on your part, but FYI it's considered a breach of etiquette to pick opposite sides of the same game in multiple threads, and then once the game has been decided only call attention to the post with the winning pick, allowing the post with the losing pick to fade into oblivion.

The 3 pick parlay has not won yet. So, I'm not sure I follow you.

The 3-pick parlay contained the winning side of the game that was double-posted across threads (i.e., it contained BC).
The other thread, which wasn't bumped, contained the losing side of that same game.
This is exactly to what posters are referring when they talk about a tout posting both sides of the same game. By calling attention to the winning side and not the losing side it creates the false appearance of an inflated record.

Another thread, which wasn't bumped, contained the losing side of that very same game.

I'm not arguing with you about this, it's ridiculous.

Cool. As long as you understand why this is frowned upon there's no problem.

Thank you. I can feel my panties unbunching up even as I type this.
You'll notice that when pags or imgv or other experienced cappers post their picks for a given sport they typically do so in one thread each day, adding to it as if and when they come up with more plays. In that way an observer can readily determine how that capper's picks have performed on a given day without having to search through multiple threads. If after after making a particular play a capper decided he wanted to back out of some of the risk and bet in the opposite direction, you can be assured he wouldn't quietly do so in another thread and create the appearance of impropriety.
