Stupid Question about punts
I know this is a stupid question. But I really don't know. On the last punt, a Hawaii player (Kicking team) was right next to the ball as it bounced toward the punt return back on the other team. The Hawaii player could have easily jumped on the ball. Is this legal? Isn't it a dead ball if the kicking team touches it first? The reason I ask this is the punt return back got a really good return, the Hawaii player could have stopped it from happening (I think).
