I'm taking Pitt

This is a must win for Pitt, and first year coach Wannstedt, after losing three times on tv this year and started conference play with much tougher teams ahead... On paper Pitt is much stronger then demostrated by their record and scores this year... Rutgers, with a beat up D and coming off two unimpressive wins against Buffalo and a Division II team looks like a soft target for a rebound game... Pitt won 41-17 last year (as 4 point favorites) with both Rutgers and Pitt experincing very little turnover...(17 and 16 returning starters respectively)... Personally, I love this spot and took Pitt at pick 'em earlier in the week and looking to make another play before kickoff...

I am on Pitt

Rutgers has better offense but I think Pitt will hold them down enough for the win

Line is currently at Rutgers -1.5. I don't expect this line to move up since you'll have alot of Pitt backers right before kickoff so I'll be waiting and expecting to take Rutgers around a Pk.

I was looking at the number and noticed most books had Rutgers Pick -110 but Pinnacle has 'em at -1 +108 While I'm on the other side of the game I was just curious what people thought was the better bet... My thinking is since you can't tie with a pick bet that you might well take -1 +108... surely 18 point change isn worth the long shot possibility of pushing on a one victory, right?

question #2 - anyone know how the powerratings on sbrlines.com (by clicking on the team names) are derived? are this from a third party? they currently have pitt at -7 with a star so I just curious how they arrive at that...

Its not even close -1 +108 is alot better value, I'm not betting because I don't want to be all stressed at dinner tonight, but I would lean to Rutgers, I felt lucky to beat them week 1 with Illinois, they seem to be a pretty talented and up and coming team but without alot of mental toughness, and this usually translates to a team that is much better at home than on the road, but not a strong play because I think Pitt is underrated.

I know, Illinois is not as bad as you think though, Michigan St, is just that good. I think Illinois covers on Saturday fairly easily.

Whoever mentioned about the Illinois Rutgers game. I watched that game. Rutgers gave that game away. They were blowing them out and looked different from the Rutgers teams of old. They made poor decisions in the fourth and literally gave the game to Illinois... so I had a feeling they'd come out firing in this game.

Give Rutgers credit...they came to play. Now they have to hold on. They put some points up against a very good defense.
