Default Paterno

I'm guessing he coaches until he dies. Thoughts?

Those are my thoughts as well.

If the broken leg on the sideline didn't take him out, then only a hearse will.

I'm afraid Nina's right. I like Joe Pa, and feel a little for him not wanting to retire as well as the position the university is in if they even hinted publicly it was time for him to do so. Sort of like Bear at 'Bama, retirement would probably kill Paterno.

I like his old school approach of wearing a tie on game day.

That makes me want to groom his hairpiece.

I think its more than apparent that Bobby Bowden has lost complete control of his team. He and Joe Pa are both great coaches and anyone would be foolish not to listen to them. But I'm not sure that either one is capable of the intense pressure of being that alpha male that the head coach needs to be.

PaPa Joe is only staying because he wants his boy get his job when he is done. Right now his boy is only the QB coach but he will move him up the ladder next year.

I think at one point that was Bowden's plan too but that didn't work out too well.

still a class act, lots of off field issues at PSU in the last couple of years. either its recruiting a different level of recruit that he did not recruit in the past or he does not carry the stick like he once did. i think it's time for him to step down
