This one jumped out at me...but my picks have been subpar so far this year. Is Temple for real? Too early to tell, but methinks not.

I think a little history lesson would be in order here.

Last year, Temple went to Hartford as a 30 point dog. With 40 seconds remaining in the game and Connecticut leading 22-17, Temple receiver Bruce Francis caught a potential game-winning pass in the back of the end zone. The pass was ruled incomplete on the field. The play was subsequently reviewed, and despite the video clearly showing that Francis WAS inbounds, the (Big East) replay official confirmed the call on the field.

Ever since then, Temple has sworn revenge. They've had this game circled on their calendar all year. I also wouldn't expect the Huskies to get much help from the officials this year.

IMHO, there is only one side to take here. Either take the home dog here, or leave the game alone.

    BOL!!!

You have the revenge angle from last year! The trends don't look bad for Temple either....UConn is 1-4 SU last 5 on the road & Temple is on a 7-2 ATS streak at home! UConn QB Lorenzen threw 3 picks vs Hofstra so he may struggle w/the first road test of the year! This isn't the same old Temple Owls w/basically all 22 starters returning from a 8-4 ATS 2007 season! I'm going to make a smaller play on Temple on the ML too!

Uconn wasn't as good as their record LY, and won't be as good this year. Temple's 'home advantage' doesn't do much for me but I think they keep it close.

I thought Temple got booted out of div 1.

UCONN didn't get any respect all last season and they ended up going 9-4 SU & 8-4 ATS. They have essentially the same team back this year and they are still not getting any respect -- not by the preseason publications nor by the linesmakers. I think this is a really good line for UCONN.

how are they not getting any respect?

    They are road favorites.

Being "road favorites" to a MAC team is not necessarily respect unless it's double digits. UCONN won a share of the Big East title last year and bring back almost all their players. The MAC was a notoriously weak conference last season and may only be a little better than that this year. This line gives no respect . . . . . which is OK by me.

And one of the games they didn't cover was against Temple. As 30 point favorites at home, but for a corrupt Big East replay official, lost the game straight up to Temple last year!!!

Moreover, Temple returns their entire offense and entire defense from last year. If you think the swelling has gone down from last year's bad beat, you're sadly mistaken. And don't think for a second that UConn will get a single call from a MAC ref in that game because they won't. I promise you that!!!

Are you suggesting that an official would be biased or could be bought off?? We're in America! This is the land of truth and justice where we can trust the officials who take the authority and responsibility to uphold the equality of every man's position with unbiased favor!
