Default Georgia WR GREEN OUT 3 games

Hes been declared ineligible for 3 games. Will this impact the UGA vs South Carolina game this weekend? The line is 3.5 right now. Will that go up?

    Yep. He's out:

Green has been suspended for three more games. Green was involved in the selling of a game-used jersey. The junior has led the Bulldogs in receiving the last two years and is a preseason All-American wideout in 2010.

It will absolutely impact the game this weekend against my Gamecocks. I know what you're thinking, yea heres another homer for the Lamecocks but it def. will make a difference. Other than AJ Green, there is no real other threat in UGA's receiving corps - well at least one has not emerged yet. One better step up and fill his shoes as UGA loses Green for not only the SC game, but they also host Arkansas (Sept. 18), and travel to Miss St. (Sept. 25) the following week. His loss certainly makes all these games "loseable" for UGA. I know this isn't basketball where the loss of the star player has a huge impact but without Green in the game defenses with solid, reliable corners are more likely to stack the box against the run as well as allow for man to man coverage allowing more blitz packages. UGA is a team already committed to the ground game but will certainly have to rely more so on solid O-line play and rushing game. Green is certainly a player that demands the respect of defenses whether he is catching balls or decoying to allow for swing passes, screens, end arounds, or whatever. The good news is UGA will certainly appeal the suspension but its a definite that he will miss the SC game . Hopefully for UGA he can reduce the suspension from 4 games to 2 because he will be dearly needed against the Razorbacks and the Bulldogs of Miss St. Then again if SC can beat the dawgs this Sat, I wouldn't mind him missing those games as it would increase the chances of the Yard Chickens contending for the East title!

Absolutely will have an impact on Georgia. Georgia didn't exactly move the ball all that well, despite putting up 55 points, and that was against ULaLa. They're up for a challenge facing South Carolina without their best player to help out Murray's with his first road start.

Charleston C...you make some good points my friend. AJ Green is the best receiver in the SEC. I am a Bama fan and yes he is better than Jones so no homer here. Losing Green will hurt Georgia for sure, but this game will be about defense and Georgia has a good one. Don't count the Dawgs out.....

I wouldn't touch this game money wise but look forward to watching it. The winner has the inside track to the West Title.

I agree Guru. My Bama team faces Penn State Saturday without our best defensive player Marcel Darius. He got himself a two game ban for some trip to Miami and agent BS. This stuff never seems to end.

I respect coaches who are up front and do not make excuses for these guys. They are not babies.

I still love Ole Miss and HOUSTON NUTT getting hammered by little JACKSONVILLE STATE because he brought in a thug that Oregon wouldn't play.

I'm an SEC guy for sure..... but don't respect dumbass sillyness even if it's Alabama. (We've had our share.) Nutt just panicked with his QB situation.

Workhorse, you certainly are right about not touching the UGA/SC game as there is no telling who will win. It will more than likely be the team who has the ball last and kicks a field goal which from what I hear is not a good thing b/c UGA's kicker has a boot. My prediction SC 24 UGA 21.

Houston Nutt got exactly what he deserved in that loss, EMBARRASSMENT.

I wish he was getting to play on Sat.. Just so after the game, people would realize the best A.J. in the SEC isn't Green, but its Alshon Jeffery..
