Default MPC Computers Bowl (Smurf Turf Bowl)

    My power ratings yield:

    Boston College by 2
    Total: 55

Pretty close to what the line is right now. In my opinion, I don't think there is any question that Boston College is the more talented team. But my concern is whether BC wants to be in Boise and wants to come out and kick tail. I really can't make up my mind on this one. Boise is certainly motivated with this being Hawkins last game and this is a true home game for Boise (HFA is reflected in the power rating results above).

If I had a gun to my head, I would take BC here. Any thoughts from the forum?

this game is probly by far one of the hardest bowl games to cap. and, then you add the departure of the boise st. coach. and, you really have a problem with it.

i guess if i had to make a pick on this game, i'd take my chances with the home team.

yes i am not touching this

bc played the tougher schedule but boise is great at home so those kinda negate each other a little bit

i usually favor teams that can run well and stop the run assuming they are not absolutely horrid vs the pass

bc is great vs the run and boise runs well!!!! so there's another push

if i had to pick though i would say BC

B.C. will be ready for this game...they've won 5 bowl games in a row, and they aren't always in a higher end bowl...B.C. does great against all teams except top 5 teams (see Va. Tech and Fla. St. this year)...QB Ryan has been playing very well, WR Blackmon will make some big plays and they should be adequate in their run game vs. Boise...the real problem for Boise lies in QB Zanbransky's inability to be accurate with his throws (see: Fresno, Georgia, Oregon St.)...the home field advantage should help a little, but B.C. is used to the cold...GL guys...

BC's the better team but I'm going with the intangibles. Big home field adv & Hawkin's last game. Also playing the under as well.

I won't touch this game either...way too many things that are present that are usually not present in bowl games (i.e. Hawkins leaving, BSU home game, weather elements now, etc...)

If anything, with a 31 game winning streak I would take a shot at BSU +131....if it gets to +150 or higher I definitely will. Also, remember BSU opened up as 3 pt favorites so the linesmaker thought they were the better team in this situation for whatever that is worth.

    Good luck!

Damn, Boise State really made me sweat this one out. I had it marked as a win after the 3rd and BC almost gave it away. :doh1:
