Default strange event during the UVA vs. UNC game last Saturday...

am watching this one on film and see that UVA kicks a field goal that originally is ruled no good, but the play is reviewed and then overturned...anyone ever seen this during a game before?...I hadn't ever...

yeah that is crazy i heard about thatone on the radio monday... how the hell does a guy standing there with his only job being to watch and see if the ball boes between the pipes get it wrong and then the coach has to use his challenge to correct the ref? what the **** if goin on around here!

Sadly, UVA still would have covered the spread without the challenge.

well, the ball hit off the crossbar and almost hit the ref on the left, thus he didn't get a real good look at the play...apparently the guy on the right was on crack, 'cause he should have seen it...it was just crazy...

Yeah, but I had the under 42 (push that dropped a big parlay back to a 2 teamer), and sadly I'm a UVA fan.

some kicks are not so easy, but if it hits the bar it is easy to see though

Come to think of it. How far does the ball have to be across the bar anyway? In soccer the ball can bounce off the inside post straight to the other inside post and from there back into play. That ball is round, so no goal. But with the shape of a football, a similar post to post bounce doesn't necessarily mean that the point of the ball never crossed the bar.

I'm almost certain rm is correct here...the ball's got to go all the way over the bar...

Refs had the under too...that's why they tried to call the FG no good.

in soccer the ball has to completely cross past the line to be a score
