Nebraska 2010
I think Nebraska can be a top 10 team next....... if they have an offense! What does everyone think?

If Nebraska can find any semblence of an offense and find a decent replacement for Suh, they should win the Big 12. They have a nice soft schedule, with the only tough games (Texas and Mizzou) at home. I would be shocked if they do not win at least 10 games next season.

Nebraska is suppose to have get a 315 pound OL transfer that is really good. Can't blame it all on the QB because the OL was horrible. Look good the last game vs. Arizona.

That alleged 2nd tier team returns 9 starters on offense and 6 on defense. Meanwhile, those wanna be phonies from Austin and Norman, who continually lose BCS Championship games, lose their alleged hot-shot QB's. Texas also loses 4 other starters, mostly on their offensive line, and 5 starters on their defense. OU loses 5 starters on offense, though Badford was a lost cause to begin with, and 6 on defense. Nebraska had the 2nd best record in the Big 12. I suggest you do some research before posting rediculous statements like that.

Right now, the odds for Nebraska to win it all in the Big 12 will be about the same as Texas and OU. All three teams are +1500 to win the BCS Championship.

I think top 10 is do-able, but more realistic, top 20...

Born and raised in Nebraska, been a fan my entire life. This offense has a long way to go before they can be top 10 but we showed a lot of hope in our bowl game.

Suh will be missed greatly. The field position the offense had was attributed mostly to the deffense......SUH will be too much to replace.....but we shall see..... I cant wait for the season to start.

They need to get the running game back this year. They look horrid on offense, make me feel bad for the defense staying out on the field so long.

I wouldn't call going to a national championship game in 2002 nothing. They've had down years but so does any other dominant school.

Wow, people respect one year wonder teams more than Nebraska. Yeah, Nebraska was horrid for quite a few years before Bo. Coach TO has more wins coaching than most schools in the history

Gentlemen, in college football, the schedule is everything. I suggest you look at Nebraska 2010 schedule. The non-con schedule includes home games against Western Kentucky, Idaho, and South Dakota State, and a road game at Washington. Three absolute lock wins. Next, they play 5 teams in the Big 12 North, three of which are at home. Thir away games are to K-State and a revenge game at Iowa State. 4 lock wins there. Only Mizzou will give them a problem, and they get Mizzou at home. Now the three games against the Big 12 South are against Texas, at home, and away games to an Oklahoma State squad that loses 8 starters on offense and 9 on defense, plus another away game to Texas A&M team that has had two losing season in a row. I will give them 2 wins there. So just by looking at the schedule, I see 9 wins easy. They will not lose too many 9-7 games nest year, because the offense will be good enough to put some points on the board.

there were 2 freshman OL that couldve played, but were hurt. Now we have them and the recruit "Yoshi" to help. I think the OL will be solid, or def better.

Offense needs some serious work to be an elite team...If defense can be really solid they can crack the top 10. good coaching.

Nebraska had a fair recruiting class, but nothing close to Texas or OU. They did not get a five star recruit, and only got six 4 star recruits. They lost their #1 recruit. No a real bad draft, but certainly nothing to write home about.

Nebraska has never relied on getting recruits with 5 stars. They look for players that have the heart to play and will fit the system. The position NE needs to work on getting better players is WR.

Lee had a good game vs. Arizona, and he had an injured shoulder that required surgery that he played with since the 3rd game. He just kept the injury silent because he didnt want to make up excuses

Nebraska will be interesting to watch next year. The defense should be solid, not what it was last year though. If they can muster up some sort of consistent offense I think they can be a serious contender in the Big 12.

Agreed they need playmakers on Offense but they will be solid on D once again so therefore they will have a chance in every game pretty much.

For what is worth Pelini has said that the defense this year should better then last (I find it tough to believe, with the loss of Suh, but I guess we will see)...

Yeah, I know what you mean, but it just seams like Bo doesn't lie. Come on, the guy said we would have an good defense when he first came and nobody believed the guy. We went from being the worst D to an average Def in one year. The second year we are in the top 2. The positions we lose, we have guys with experience to replace. The position that we worries me the most is both safety positions. Im not worried about the D-Line because we have depth there. It will be different without Suh though.
Two new players that will have huge impact:
OLB- one of the top JC Lavonte David
OL- one of the top JC OL Hardrick
