UCLA -3 1st half (+105 at betphoenix) is the play that I really like. UCLA is going to take temple out of its running game and force them to pass. Temple will not score a touchdown in the first half. I think they will get a field goal in the first half.

I like UCLA but I'm not sure why.
Temple found their legs this year after being a laughing stock for the past 3 decades, I'm actually a Temple Grad but I can't get past the weak MAC and its overall lackluster performance in bowls, but I'm not very knowledgable about UCLA
Any west coasters can fill us in ?

The things that scare me about Temple....They haven't beat a team with a winning record, they beat Navy when they were without their starting QB, and their conference. Not that UCLA has beaten anyone either, they're playing in DC with temps in the mid 20s...ugh..ugly game.

temple will be out manned trust me UCLA sucks its true but they should still beat temple... You guys on temple will be pissed when they are getting beat and it reads "no players considered draftable" wait I think they have that one defensive line men that will go in the 6-7 round. UCLA gets a top 25 class almost every year or around there Temple not so much good luck... If UCLA loses to temple i'll laugh my ass off. If UCLA played in the MAC they would be undefeated. MAC is terrible.

UCLA is going to play in Washington D.C, where the temp will be around 32 at game time, and dropping. They are going to freeze their tails off. Kids from Sunny California are not used to playing in that kind of weather. UCLA is 1-4 in their last 5 bowl games, but none were with Neuheisel at QB.
I took Temple and the ML +150 a while ago and here is why. UCLA should have the talent edge, but Temple has a lot more to play for. Al Golden took one of the worst teams in college football history and built them into a bowl team. I can not remember the last time Temple went to a bowl game. Temple did have a win against the Navy, the teams who'se win over Army allowed UCLA to even get into this game. UCLA does not have a very good team. There 6 wins consist of 5 wins against non bowl teams, and an upset of Tennessee, who may have been looking ahead to the Florida game the following week. UCLA has been around a .500 team for 4 straight years now. Knowing UCLA, they can get discouraged in a hurry. If they score first, they have a good shot at winning, but if Temple scores first, UCLA may just quit. I will take the team that is used to the cold weather and wants the game more. Temple has everything to gain. UCLA has nothing to gain.
Bowl Mad Money record so far: 2-2. +25 units.

From all I've heard on the radio in southern California the Bruins really wanted to play in this bowl game. Their defense is solid and overall they are bigger and stronger than Temple.I laid the 4.5 here for a chunk of change.

^^^ on that note im on ML tells you how much i trust UCLA -4.5 could become an adventure with that offense. should UCLA lose to a Mac team they will never hear the end of it here in LA.

In the final game of Temple's season they lost to Ohio pretty badly which also meant they got 2nd in the MAC to Ohio. I feel like Temple will be pushed around and beaten down by this UCLA team. UCLA will be excited to play this game. They have some east coast recruits they're recruiting pretty heavily too and they would love to put on a show for them for the things to come. This game will provide a forecast of the season to come for the Bruins and I expect them to come out and dominate this game.

I am from Ohio Mac country and love ucla here. If they can't whip temple then something crazy is going on. I mean just the fact that UCLA's defense held up pretty well against USC for 3 quarters. Does any1 really think Temples athletes compare at all to USC or Oregon's for that matter. And at first I wondered if UCLA could score many points. But Ohio did pretty well offensively vs Temple and did nothing vs a terrible Marshall team. It seems too easy but I am putting big money on UCLA here.

The easier it is, the riskier...I'm from Temple and I still find it shocking that I'm handicapping a Temple football game lol. Anyway to get to the point, don't underestimate Temple. Yes, we did lose to an Ohio team, but we didn't have our star freshman running back Bernard Pierce. Look him up, he was a top 5 freshman running back in the nation. He's the reason why we finished at 9-3. We had to rely more on our passing game against Ohio which is average at best. Well, Bernard Pierce is back and healthy, so expect Temple to run more. Our biggest weakness, is our secondary on defense. However, look up the weather for DC. Freezing cold and lots of wind which will negate both teams passing offense greatly. To sum it up, there is a lot of buzz on campus about this game. Combined with the fact that it's really a home game since we are about 2.5 hours away from DC. I know a lot of people bet against Temple when they played #3 Villanova this year and looked what happened. Temple as a whole wants to show the nation we can hang with the big guys and erase the image of us being a sucky sports school. Here is my play:
1 unit on the Temple ML
2 units on the Under 45

Bernard Pierce is no Joe McKnight. But goodluck taking Temple. If a MAC team beats UCLA anywhere anytime it will be a major upset in my eyes. The last 2 years a MAC team has covered once in bowl games I believe. UCLA is my lock of the bowl season the weather does scare me some though.

I have UCLA teased down to +2, but like them -4 as well. But the weather is a big factor that can even this game.
The only thing I could think of on Saturday watching that putrid Ohio team, was they routed Temple last month 35-17.
Temple's only quality win was against Navy.
UCLA's coach has been very good in bowl games. Small lean to UCLA in this won.

If UCLA comes focused and ready to play they should cover the number. From psycological standpoint, they must tune out all the weather talk and just play. Temple has to play in the same elements too.

Bruin season ticket holder here. I wouldn't take the Bruins for any reason, we are not very good at all. THE EASIEST MONEY YOU GUYS WILL EVER MAKE IS ON THE UNDER!! This game will literally be a field goal kicking contest filled with 3 and outs in between. Our defense is VERY GOOD at shuting down the run which I hear spells doom for Temple. Our QB Prince has a very tender shoulder. Our O-Line is completely banged up, I expect at least 4 sacks from Temple today. I rarely tell anyone what to bet but TRUST me when I tell everyone to pound the UNDER on this game. Any questions about UCLA I can answer.

I have a question for you about UCLA. Is a 6-6 Marshall team better than a 6-6 UCLA team that is what this comes down to for me. I see on the 1 page on here it's 51 percent for UCLA and 49 percent for Temple I truly must be missing something here. Can Temple really have the athletes to compete with UCLA? I don't think so at all but alot of people do even a Bruin season ticket holder.

I'm sorry dude but I really don't know anything about Temple or Marshall. The more and more that I read about Temple the more I feel confident about UCLA covering. Our defense is wicked and I don't think Temple has seen anything like it this season. I can gurantee one thing, UCLA will not be blown out of this game. I know for a fact they are VERY excited to be playing in this game even if it's all the way on the east coast. I say you put your money on UCLA and the under after re-evaluating things. If Kevin Prince's shoulder holds up and our O-line can manage to provide him some protection then he should be good for a TD maybe 2. If he however gets hurt and they bring in Kevin Craft then your money is gone lol.
Pros:
UCLA has better atheletes on both sides of the ball (especially defense) We have a first rounder to be in Brian Price on our d-line that should give Temple's QB hell. Also a potential first rounder in our secondary in Verner who WILL shut down Temple's number one receiver. Rick Neuhessiel is a far superior coach with a VERY good bowl record. Our field goal kicker is one of the best, if not the best in the nation, dude is automatic.
Cons:
UCLA's running game has been average at best. I don't like how our coach has done a running back by comitee style offense. That being said, we do have VERY talented running backs but our O-line does not let them shine. Our O-line is downright shameful.
Bottom line:
If our O-line gives Prince time in the pocket UCLA covers. If not I don't see UCLA winning by more than 3, in fact they may even be beat.
Prediction:
UCLA 21- Temple 10
GL to all. GO BRUINS!!

Temple should have a major edge in the crowd. UCLA went just 6-6 in a weak PAC-10 this season and was hit hard by injuries.
I have 1 unit on Temple to cover +4.5

If Temple was in the Pac-10 there is no way in hell they make it to a bowl. Also don't forget UCLA did go into Tennesse and beat them, so I think they can handle crowd noise.
