Swollen shut.
Expect this to hit ESPN soon.

I have not heard word one about this. The biggest tell tale sign has not occured as of yet. The game has not been taked off the board to substantiate or end these rumors. This simply did not happen. Where did you hear this. Site your source, and please do not have it be some drunk Irish fan in South Bend.

From David Kaplan, WGN-AM 720: Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen was involved in a fight outside a South Bend bar early Sunday morning, according to a report Monday evening by WGN-AM's David Kaplan.
According to Kaplan, Clausen has two black eyes from the altercation at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The incident comes on the heels of the Irish's overtime loss to Connecticut, their fifth of the season, leaving Notre Dame at 6-5.
The Clausen report isn't news Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis wants to hear as he faces his own scrutiny with a final game at Stanford Saturday. Athletic director Jack Swarbrick is expected to decides Weis' fate at the school early next week.

It happened. I was there. Not to start a rumor because I'm not sure, but it looked like it was one of Golden's non-ND friends. Hard to tell in the mayhem though. He does have a black eye.

Espn is saying it was a fan which is kind of rash unless they are absolutely sure it was...dumb, dumb move if it was...Won't help him want to come back...As a whole Notre Dame fans are among the most docile I have ever seen.

One punch people. He got sucker punched. Hell, it is no big deal. Didn't break anything, which shows you how bad the fan was. You can't even call that a fight. He was out with mommy and daddy. He will play on Saturday. This is a big nothing.

Actually what is in the media is NOT what happened.
Clausen was NOT with his parents. He was with Golden Tate, and a few of Tate's out of town friends. Clausen's brother was in the bar---but not his parents. Clausen's parents own a home in South Bend and went back to their house before the fight.
Clausen was also not sucker punched. He was looking to scrap, and got his ass handed to him by 2 guys.
Clausen's eye is so swollen shut that he is seeing an opthamologist today. Anyone who thinks this is no big deal doesn't have a clue what happened.
Clausen will be at practice today---that is for certain. And most expect him to play, but it is not definite yet.

See, this is what you get for losing. Had ND won, Claussen would have been banging the homecoming queen. Instead, he's the one getting banged...

According to the oficial NCAA Injury report, Clausen is listed as "probable". He did not suffer any injuries. He is playing. Time to put this thread to bed. Headline hunters can find another story to write about.

There was not even a complaint sworn out. Clauson plays. Notre Dame loses. Weis gets fired. 8 million Notre Dame homers flood the websites about how great the new and improved Notre Dame will be with their new coach (whoever it is). Notre Dame get's its tail kicked by USC again next year. The same old caca guys.

Big...
You seem to be surly about this whole topic.
You began in this thread by questioning if it even happened....oops on your part.
Then you posted regurgitating that Clausen was "out with his parents"......
Ooops. That wasn't right either.
Actually the NCAA doesn't have an official injury list----because colleges and universities CAN NOT discuss a player's injury without the player's consent because of HIPPA laws.
And for someone who wants this thread to die---you sure do post a lot inside of it.

Last reports outa SB is that Clausen plays. He wore a tinted visor during practice to hide his everlast look. Armando Allen probably won't play and that's big as ND loses without a running game and he's their best by far. In their losses they were outrushed and ND's rush D is FCS.
Weis is not Wise, that's for sure. The blimp recruited purely based on Offense and treated Defensive players as second class. The final scores bare that out. His co-def co-ords are a joke, but given the lower level talent recruited, what did you expect. Weis and his one sided thinking deserve their losses.
Just cannot bet on ND and sure hope they go bowling as they'll get a better opponent because of their name and there will be easy money to be made.
