Default Is the U of H game a Trap?

Houston Cougars +2 against Tulsa sounds way to good to be true! Looks like i will be playing Tulsa big any thoughts?

I think Vegas is trying to make you guys think exactly what you're thinking. But that's just my hypothesis.

I think the line came out too low (Houston -3 I believe) and everyone jumped on Houston, they thought even raisinig it up to 7 would still not be enough. They made this radical line shift to get people thinking trap and things of that nature.

Take it for what it's worth......I'm high

Why would they set the line so low? Last year they beat Tulsa by 30,got to play Tulsa

Hadnt thought about from that angle, but it makes crazy sense. good thinkin'

I may double my bet down.

By the way, huge 3 with 6.7 left! GO NO!

Houston is our biggest rival in CUSA. The objective for this Rivalry is to blow the other team out. The margin was 20+ for the past 3 games. I believe the books are trying to trap people into betting on Tulsa with this spread. They would make alot more money having Tulsa as a favorite instead of a 10 point dog. I would not be suprised if houston scores 80+ points this Saturday...Would love a Tulsa win but I'll take the $$$ instead.

You are crazy to "take Tulsa big" just because the low line makes Houston seem too good to be true. If you can back up a Tulsa bet with good reasoning, statistics, trends....something...please do, because then it's understandable. But I cannot see laying my money on a team that is not very good, and definitely shouldn't be able to slow down Houston's offense, just because an oddball line with some rlm.

CRIS was the first to put a number up for this match-up, and when they hung up HOU -3...and didn't receive any money either way...within an hour, the rest of the off-shore books who offer lines early for the next week's games, felt safe enough to also put up 3 on that game...That was Sunday evening, and before the night was through...the Outfits bought some +3 on Tulsa and forced the adjustment down to 2.5...Then on Monday, when more books opened their lines for the upcoming games, the Wiseguys went ahead and took +2 & +1.5 on Tulsa...But with expectations of public money coming in on Houston, some books actually went back up to 2 by the end of the night...Then Tuesday came, and the Outfits decided to move full steam ahead (no pun intended)...and they really took it to the books hard...The "buy-orders" kept being sent out, and the Outfits were competing to see who can get the best number...And in the course of "11 minutes", they had forced the sports books to go from -2 on Houston...all the way to -1.5 on Tulsa...Ultimately letting the oddsmakers and bookmakers know, that they had the wrong team favored...
LINE PREDICTION : Although it's obvious that the Wiseguys see a lot of value on Tulsa...as I've pointed out countless times, they love to be able to get "points" on BOTH teams in any given match-up...This is why I expect this line to get back down to a PK eventually...And when the betting public gets involved, later in the week...and expecially on Saturday...we may very well see Houston go off as the favorite once again...VR

The only problem with that is the fact that there is no value in trying to middle anything less than 3 points. That is just throwing vig away. If you guys who think you can outsmart the books in Vegas want to dump your money on Tulsa, go ahead. I know for a fact that you lose a lot more money than you win by trying to out think people who do this for a living. Tulsa has lost 3 games in a row, two of thise being at home. But by all means, dump your money on Tulsa.

syndicates and sharps are the reason for the movement.
BigDaddy , you claiming to be in a syndicate, I would think this would be obvious. They're getting both teams as a dog, therefore if the game goes like they predict being a close game, they middle... right

personally I think Houston runs away with it. but I guess I'm just a square

same happened in the Wisky/ Iowa game I believe and it didnt work out for the sharps

If youre talkin about Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, with Depp and Del Toro, I think it's tell me you brought the god damn golf shoes...at least that's the way I always heard it. But if youre talking about another quote, then nevermind lol

Tulsa has been a pretty decent program for quite a while and Houston did give up 58 to UTEP this year!
Granted this is a pretty good Houston team w/beating Okie State and Miss. St. on the road already!

When the line does not make sense you would think the person that set the line knows a lot more than most of us. I think the problem is that there must be some injury or something that people are missing here when you see a line like this.

The next time you watch it, watch it with the subtitles on. You'll catch things you never knew were said. One of my all time favorite movies.
