Let's say i owe $5k to local and I don't want to pay. Lets say he knows where i live etc...what can he do to make me pay?

I just want to hear some true scary stories if anyone had such experience firsthand.

Probably nothing these days. Not worth the PR or jail time to deal with a guy over 5K.

It depends on where you live. Most of the guys I know who are books just make life miserable for the person who does not pay up. Vandalism, threats on his families life, and things like that. If your book is in good standing with the local authorities, you will probably get busted up pretty good. Some books have out of town muscle. Either way, you are in for a rough time.

I knew a guy who woke up and his car was gone. He owed them 16k. My bookies are asian gangsters. They want their money Friday by 6pm sharp or you are done. They pay saturday by noon. It works good this way cause i never deal with mickey mouse people. This is serious business. I always get paid.

Some advice for you.

Bet through an off shore book.

That way you can only put IN what you can afford to bet..............and get paid if you win.

Run out of $$........the fun is done until you can afford to put more in.

I never understand why junkies bet through a local Vinnie.

That just equals trouble. You lose and you chase and you lose and you chase and then when you can't pay you wonder why these guys are pissed??

Bet with 5Dimes or somebody like that. You can still be a junkie........but at least when you run out of $$ it's OVER and this question would never come up.

Pay the guy and then if you still need the "Action"...............open an account at an offshore that won't let you play with money you don't have.

Trust me. In the past I had to cash out $17,000 out of my 401k after two weeks of getting my ass kicked and chasing.

They came to my work......my house and in the end it was a lesson I needed to learn..........Walking into the bar with $17,000 in a bag makes you realize some serious shit.

Now I bet big on certian games............but only with the money I have and the money I can afford to lose. If my balance hits zero.........I have to re-deposit........with money I have.........not chase on credit.

Like someone here posted..it all depends on how good the local book is in with the police, Most bookies have friend(s) on the local force, how else do they continue to run as they do. I am sure you book is no different. The worst thing you can do is avoid him, best thing you can do is go talk to him, arrange a payment plan and stick to it, all the guy wants is his money so I am pretty sure he will work something. Just don't ignore him..the worst thing you can do

Do not use sportsbook.com i did a cash out with them last year for (2) $2500 checks $5000 total. I deposited the money into my bank account and two days later my bank contacted me and told me they could not honor the checks --bounced!!!!!!

These local books do come to your house and beat the shit out of you. local don't offer service all local people except for people they know very well including where they work, live, and hang out.. they will call you at 3 am or coming to your house at that time..
