    Default KU/OU Game

Guys, I'm getting ready to head to the game and I wanted to post this before leaving. As much as I hate to say this, I feel that OU is a very strong play today. Without going into too much detail, the Jayhawks just cannot compete with this team. Our defense is not even close to what it used to be and our offense will not have that much success against this defense. I see an score of 41-24 OU

The play here is the UNDER. Neither Bradford nor Demarco Murray are playing this week. OU's offense will struggle for TDs as it has for the past few weeks (only 33 points vs Baylor (with Bradford) because they kicked 4 FGs to go with their 3 TDs. 7 scoring drives is nice, but teams that kick more FGs than TDs are UNDER bait. Kansas will not be able to drop back and throw the ball this week. OU's front 4 will be in the backfield all afternoon.

Bradford is a big big loss. i've seen L Jones take enough snaps at qb to know that they severely limit offensive playcalling with him in there. OU will try to play smashmouth football with Chris Brown getting a ton of carries. They will move the ball and i expect them to win, but scoring will be something like 23-13 with OU winning. OU has been a great under play recently as their defense is among the best in the nation. if they had a complimentary offense, then they would be written up more, but 3 close losses in games where their offense couldn't put up more than 13, 13, 21 points means that this defense isn't getting the credit it deserves. Texas' first 7 possessions last week were 6 punts and a fumble. The score after all of that was 6-0. This offense can't get it done.

Don't have much on Kansas in here, but the short comment is that they have been putting up 40/week on weak opponents (UTEP, Duke, So Miss, Iowa State, Colorado). Last year, KU put up 31 points on OU, I wouldn't be too scared by this, as that was the high octane OU offense that was playing up tempo, fast break speed. Kansas got 15 posessions in that game and scored on 5 of them (one was a garbage TD in the last minute of a blowout). They also ran all over the sooners, their RB had 103 yards and 8.3 ypc. This year's game is a slow, slow game where they will get 12 posessions and score on 3 of them.

Lock down defense + an offense that can't stay healthy = UNDER

I'm about to head to the game as well, live in Lawrence obviously, and am a big hawk fan. I can't reiterate The Gambler's comments enough - KU will get handled today. I put five units on OU earlier in the week when the line opened at 7.5. I'm adding to that as well as considering the under thanks to gLonghorn's analysis. Hit the -8 HARD. BKA

I feel left out as Im the only one not going to the game, but I actually took Kansas today. I really wouldn't be suprised if they won outright, but I did take the points.

Have fun at the game guys

There's no way OU scores 41. This is the worst OU offense i've seen in years.

Game should be over in my view.

I can't see Oklahoma scoring 41 either soonerfan. The offense isn't that good right now. You are just happy to score points right now.

hey guys, i hope that you all cashed in on this play. it may not have been 41 points but they did put up 35. i know a lot of people had KU and I felt this was one of those games where the ones who really know this jahawk team knew that they are not on the same level as OU. I realize it could have went the other way but I think the odds were in the favor of OU.
