Default Being smart with your money 101

I relly hate to even try to make a thread other than for our group , but I get /or see comments that include making a pick on tuesday , or wanting to jump all over something before it goes the other way ,
101 google , if you made your selection did your homework all but making that saturday morning call in bet , there is still one thing you should try to always do , google that team and after the search click news , I know you know , but you shoukld always do this , hummmm uh put it like this , last week navy the best pick of the week , starting full back /rb out
havey arenas alabama last second turns out he has broke ribs , it turns out that college teams dont have to reoprt their injuries as the pros do , guys trust me , dont get so anxious to bet on monday , look thier ware little sheets you can usually get in bars you know the little parlays sheets , yes you have to pay it up front , Im guilty of still doing one or 2 because that line comes out on sunday and freezes , so if you team goes the other way maybe go find another team or start looking somewhere to find one of the parlay sheets , I promise you have somehwere in town to get one of these ,I know you guys get mad that i cant post my final bets but this is something you should do on your own , because why (its your money) good luck , be smart with your money , and as always hope your wins are my wins

If anybody has watched my plays they ae always at the last minute. I hardly ever make a bet a week or several days before game time.

Great advice. Thats how you do it.

i think getting the best line value will be more productive over the long run then waiting for injury news.

sometimes it will be best to get the line early, and sometimes later. but i don't think there is a significant advantage to waiting till the last minute...

the opening line is the one with most error. therefore, guys who know their shit (not me) get the line then. end of story

I think maybe , you have never heard of the little parlay sheets , Got no problem with your bets , But I surely dont look to bet my wad on tuesday , as a matter of fact had to bet oregon today , but the little parlay sheets have auburn + 14 , Byu favored michigan +7 and thats frozen for the week , sometimes , it worth reading the entire thread , but use the google advice in one ear out the other , but it saves my crapper this weekend , thats all jus trying to help not dictate

I crushed a guy with parlay sheets. He put out his sheets on wednesday I bet on Sunday. By then the lines could have moved 2 or 3 points. I love betting Philly -3 when it should be philly -6. I'll take Baltimore +8 instead of Baltimore +4

    Stale lines are your friend.

as a philly fan and a bettor i have noticed when they put the eagles lines out early there usually too low so its good to get it early but if its a questionable game where there not the fav. ill wait it out. But after the loss to oakland im layin off for a while

    I agree.

Waiting until the last minute to make a bet could backfire if the line has moved far too much to make what was once a great play a not so good play anymore.

There is nothing like jumping on the wagon as soon as the lines come out.

There is a reason why many Sportsbooks out there simply refuse to post overnight lines. It is because they know that cappers who know what they are doing will hit them first.

And should an injury report come out later in the week that may influence the outcome of the game, one can always bet the other side for the same amount and lose the juice.

Losing the juice is the price one has to pay in the pursuit of GREAT VALUE.

Just like the lion is always the first to eat, successful cappers are always the first to hit the lines as soon as they come out

I can definitely see betting one maybe 2 lines but really How in the hell can you can prepare in one night to make picks , This is all we do , I have only wrote in 4 teams with 5 still to go on figuring is what ands how i bet those , started off with 20 or so games that the lines came out less in what we had em figured out , All day all night still trying to pull the trigger on em l guess way back when I had an online account betting $10 on ten teamers yeah , but now when i am laying car payments on single bets , or more guess this post really hit deaf ears , again I once jumped the gun , bet everything all on about 15 3 teamers had the same 4 teams on 15 3 teamers , but graduated from that , finally figured out how to make a profit , last week came off 6 games from thursday to saturday it paid off went 2-6 had i kept em , so ill take those odds , but really wish this thread would go away , as i stated was back when I wrote hate to write a thread to anyone but our group i knew better , forgot how many people actually like giving away money , Online accounts are for people that like putiing money into an account until its gone , the rest of us like collecting on tuesday

Some books give lower juice for early picks, this can be a good bonus if you get a good line.

It really doesn't matter when you make a play. The key is getting the best line. The best line maybe on Monday, it may be on Saturday. Knowing the real line is the key. I sometimes make a play immediately, I sometimes make a play near tipoff. I don't buy into injuries too much unless it's the QB. From my experience, in football and especially in basketball, an inured player is almost a boost to that team for the 1st game. They really don't feel the effect until 2 or 3 games down the line. I can think of hundreds of games where someone gets an injury update and make a huge play based on it and everyone and their mama follows only to find that the team rises up to cover, even in dire circumstances. I try not to get emotional about guys injured on 1st announcement. "If it seems too good to be true".

This is sound advice, but sometimes I feel like I need to book early for the best line and before a RLM.

I have always bet early and as soon as the lines are posted.

Never regretted it. Do not regret it now and I don't believe I ever will.

Southern Mississippi comes to mind as an example. The line opened at -10 and that is what I bet on.

Should I have decided to wait, I would have bought the bet at -16. Talk about a good deal gone bad.

    S. Mississippi won by 20 and covered by a double digit margin or a touchdown and field goal protection.

Had I chosen to place the bet when the spread was -16, I would have spent the entire game sweating russian bullets and praying to God that Memphis would not score a touchdown to screw my bet.

Gentlemen ! The guy who wins the gold medal is the one who is the first to cross the finish line. It is never the one who waits until the last minute to do so.

Taking a (calculated) risk is what success is all about.

Playing it safe is the attitude that will guarantee you will be working for a boss until you are eligible for social security checks.
