I've said this since the first game of the season. Of course I said it last season as well until the SEC Championship proved me wrong.

It's not that Alabama is so much better they are just more complete. Alabama has the ability to make you play honest with the passing game. they can break off a big run at any time. Most importantly though when they want to really punnish you they can just pound and pound and pound right at your front.

Florida certainly has the ability to break the big one at any given time but without Harvin it is one less person to draw the attention hich doesn't eliminate the threat but lessons the frequency. Florida can pound at you but not with the same amount of punnishment. While Florida can pass the ball I'm noticing they haven't really tried to develope routes that will be bennificial for sustained drives when the running game isn't working. I can't say for sure is it's coaching or player related. tebow can certainly make decent enough throws but he does have a problem checking off the primary receiver much of the time.

Special teams I would have to give the edge to Florida both in returns and coverage. The defenses are pretty much a wash with maybe a slight edge to Alabama's secondary.

these two teams are close enough in overall talent that a game between the two can still easily enough go either way. It will ultimately come down to who wants it more, who performs tot he extent of their abilities and which coaching staff game plans and makes the fewest mistakes from the sidelines on gameday.

Florida has the motivation of trying to prove they are among the all-time greatest teams in college history and Alabama has the hunger to prove that their time has arrived.

How can you say defenses are equal if Florida beat them last year and Florida returned all 11 starters on defense?

The defenses are equal. Alabama's defense is improved over last year. Florida's is still as dominate but from what I have seen and it's my opinion right or wrong Alabam's is equal to Florida's defense.

If Bama worked more on their Wildcat in practice and expanded on it and use it more in games they would be unbeatable

Right now Alabama is the best team in the country.

Florida's offense is clearly not the same without Harvin, and Tebow being banged up some.

Alabama isn't going to win flashy---they are simply going to beat the other team up physically.

On a neutral field--at this time---Alabama is the best team in the country.

,you can't go by what happened last year, really is that how you cap and follow football....do you not think teams improve from year to year.....alabama was not supposed to be even in the mix last year and all they did was get to the sec title game, they got better and florida just has what they had,i personally think florida lost something with the defense from last year, same players but not the same results....teams have come very close to beating florida this year and some of them should have, but due to not being able to finish the game, but florida is vunerable this year and you can see it

    FLA lost yesterday IMO.
bogus call cost ARK the game.
SEC officials seem to lean towards the favs

I been saying that for weeks now and people called me crazy! They are struggling offensively. The threat of Tebow really makes there offense go. Thats what make the Zone Read so effective. As long as Tebow is the QB at Florida the zone read can be successful, but when they play Bama I can see them being in a lot of trouble with that kind of one sided offense. They really have to work on there passing game if they want to beat Alabama in the SEC Championship game.

But anyway Bama is by FAR the best team in the nation. They are better defensively and offensively to me. There defense totally annihilated Arkansas offense. I'll give Alabama an A- as of now. The only thing I would say they can improve on is there passing game, and they really dont have to be great at that.

Have you seen Alabama defense ?? I think it will be easier for Bama defense to defend a one dimensional team than Florida having to defend, Ingram and company on top of beast man himself Julio Jones.

Tebow is a great leader and is the heart and soul of that team. I hope we get the chance to face them in Atlanta.

We Bama fans really only hate people from TN and Auburn. In that order too.

The one thing Alabama doesn't have is a version of Tebow. Tebow brings an intangible to the big game that Bama doesn't have yet. You give me 1 game with both teams and until shown different I will take the Tebow led team because when it comes "nut cuttin'" time, I want him on my side to get it done. In a big game when a team of similar talent to Bama's starts crowding the box, I'm not so sure McElroy can get it done but I know Tebow will. Teams do improve in different years but until somebody knocks the king off the mountain, they are still the king. Tim Tebow is the heart of that team, they follow his lead, not Percy Harvin's. What's scary s Florida isn't even hitting on all cylinders right now, wait til they do. I guess we'll see what we'll see.

    If true , so sad!

A stud Heisman Trophy winning college QB like him could have 'done' 70% of the girls & 30% of the boys at Florida by now.

THe difference between the two teams is not much.

If you are Florida you are relying on Tebow to win the game for you.
If you are Alabama you are relying on McElroy to not lose the game for you.

Alabama needs to control the line of scrimmage to win.
Florida needs to force Alabama into a mistake to win.

    That's it in a nutshell.
