Here's what I would do...I dunno if you'd wanna do this with you're money though, but similar to brooks idea kinda Id go with this 5 teamer to win $93

    Florida -2500
    Penn St -850
    Steelers -1000
    Eagles -900
    Packers -700

Good luck with whatever you decide to do though

Depend on how much you want to build up. If you r patient for season-long and your goal is x10 then bet $10/$15 and increase as you win. Otherwise, double down a couple times and hopefully you get on a streak...

That is similar to the roll I go with and I do $20 a game. I'm a very streaky bettor so I will bust out on an 0-7 streak but overall you should be able to run that up slow and steady if you pick your shots and don't get bet happy.

If your BR is $150, wait till you can save another $150 and then see Kelly Criterion as mentioned.

$5 a game if you want to stay in action

Agree with Lock, best bet would be to wait until you can afford a somewhat higher roll to start with. Otherwise 5, 10 bucks a game and even with those numbers you could go broke after a cold streak. Or throw everything out the window find a good game and go for the double up.

deposit at BetPhoenix and ask for 100% cash bonus with 8x rollover.

    now you have $300

i'd bet 5% of BR per game. i guess maybe 10% if you are extremely confident on a play... just my opinion...

if you just want to be able to stay in the miniscule action then yes, go right ahead and do what clark said. It is sound advice.

but I prefer to win big or go home. Check out Roagbetter's thread where he allocated $100 +25 matchplay to win $10k. He lost that $125 and put in another 75. He lost another $50 and was down to a $25 parlay which he won, and is currently sitting comfortable at 4k plus. This is assuming you are both good AND lucky enough to do it. As more than likely you will go broke.

Parlays may be risky. Just go all in one play and get your balance at or near $300. Be courageous.

Definitely get the 100% freeplay at Betphoenix. Its a good book. Most people say don't bet more than 2-3% of your bankroll. I roll a similar bankroll and i built it to close to $400 primarily teasing CFB. Tonight fot example I have cincy +4 and over 42.5. Chicken Dinner! Totals are great to tease. Check weather reports, etc. Look for 7's and 3's, with hooks. You can take a team laying 6.5 and end up getting 3.5. Last weekend my big hit was washington huskies +13.5, U of Pitt +7, and Patriots +7. It's not an exact science, but it can be done....

I would wager $15-19 per bet (about 1/8th to 1/10th of your bankroll). Don't pick any lines only because you have a low bankroll. Hopefully you'll hit a winning streak and double up to $300. From there you may want to set your bets to around $25 per bet (about 1/12th of your bankroll). If you double up again, you can slightly increase your bet amount again (maybe to $33 per bet).

im actually doing that this week parlayed Boise ML, ohio state ML, and Miami canes ML for a lil less than even money to start.

Bet $5 a game for fun till you lose it all. $150 is not a bankroll.

Kelly Criterion is a good basis if you're very confident in (and can quantify) your edge as a bettor. If you can't then the best way to build a bankroll (of any size) is by being patient. Stay away from parlays. The reward is higher, but the hit rate is much lower and when you're already working with a small BR, the losses will seem that much larger.

If I was in your position, I would set my betting unit size at $3 (2% of BR) to start and stick to flat betting on straight wagers only. Deposit at a book with reduced juice lines like 5Dimes or Pinnacle (reduced juice is much more useful in the long run than bonuses). I would set a target BR size of $180 (for a 20% increase) and work towards that goal, taking it just as seriously as if you were betting $300 or $3000 each game. The goal setting is critical because it keeps you from falling into the mindset of throwing money into reckless wagers. Stick to the sports you know well and don't bet just for the sake of doing it. When you feel very confident about a game, maybe you increase your bet size to 4%, but again, don't be frivolous with them. When possible, deposit more into your bankroll, but stick to your plan. Remember, this is your money, and you want it to grow. When you reach your goal, increase your bet size accordingly, and keep at it.

If you don't have the discipline to do this with a small bankroll, you shouldn't be wagering larger amounts of money.

This is the unglamorous answer, but consistency is the key to long term profitability in sports betting. You can take the professional route and treat every bet seriously, or you can take the degenerate route and play recklessly in the hopes of a big score.

    Good Luck.

$3 dollar bets? Is that money management? Why not just get bold and throw that $150 into one pick before deciding on money management strategies?

The first and most important thing for any sports bettor to learn is good money management. Without it, everyone ultimately gives it back to the books...

I agree with this philosophy, its a little boring but you can add to your bankroll slowly, this is also a decent way to put some $$ into "action" to meet your rollover requirements
