Default Player Injuries/Updates: Kentucky, Hawaii, Toledo, etc.

    Player Injuries/Updates

Middle Tennessee wide receiver Patrick Honeycutt and backup quarterback Nicholas Coleman were arrested and charged with providing alcohol to minors early Sunday morning. Honeycutt and Coleman "had several kegs of beer and were charging money at the door for empty cups." We can only assume the cups were going for $3 a pop. Honeycutt is the team's leading receiver with 20 catches for 220 yards and a score. "We will be reviewing the situation and taking appropriate action," said athletic direction Chris Massaro.

Kentucky coach Rich Brooks is not saying who will start at quarterback Saturday against Auburn. "You may find out when the game starts," Brooks said after practice on Tuesday. With Mike Hartline (knee) out, the leading candidates are Will Fidler and true freshman Morgan Newton. We can't help but wonder if wide receiver Randall Cobb is in the mix as well.

    Toledo
coach Tim Beckman has downgraded quarterback Aaron Opelt (shoulder) to questionable this week against Northern Illinois. Earlier in the week Beckman called Opelt probable, but other sources said it was unlikely he would play. The latter seems to be the case as Opelt is still experiencing pain in his shoulder. If Opelt doesn't go, Austin Dantin will start.

    Hawaii
wide receiver Royce Pollard has a stress fracture in left fibula and will not make the trip to Idaho. Pollard has caught 13 balls for 142 yards on the season. There's no timetable on his return.

I am going to be updating it as the weekend approaches.

Oklahoma wide receiver Ryan Broyles (shoulder) practiced on Wednesday, though his status for the Red River Rivalry remains up in the air.

    Texas
coach Mack Brown says there is nothing wrong with quarterback Colt McCoy after two reporters say they saw McCoy walking walking stiff-legged from the Texas athletic facility on Tuesday. “If he got hurt, it was in the locker room,” Brown said. “He was running around and doing everything he typically does at practice.”

Michigan State quarterback Kirk Cousins told The Detroit Free Press, "I got my ankle healed, and we're good to go for this Saturday." Due to the elbow injury to Keith Nichol, we may see Cousins take all of the Spartan snaps for the first time this season.

Arizona running backs Nic Grigsby (shoulder) and Keola Antolin (undisclosed) as well as wide receiver Bug Wright (knee) are questionable against Standford this Saturday. Freshman Greg Nwoko was the Wildcats' leading rusher last week and it looks like he will have to carry the load once again.

So let me get this straight....They waited to post the line cause of the injury to Toledo's QB...Comes out he's unlikely to play and the line is NIU -4.5 only? I wish I could have seen where that line would have been had the QB not been questionable

No DD, you must not have looked at the line today. People privy to this info (and those who it didn't make a difference to) and took NIU early got a good line. Since the info on the QB it's now been pushed to 7 in some spots.

Virginia Tech running back Ryan Williams is listed as probable on the Virginia Tech injury report due to an illness. We have not seen any reports of Williams missing any practice time, so we assume he will play this week against Georgia Tech.

Washington wide receiver Devin Aguilar (blow to head) sat out drills on Thursday according to The Seattle Times, though he may be available or the game against Arizona State on Saturday. Aguilar caught three balls for 43 yards and two scores in last week's win over Arizona. Also Washington wide receiver Jordan Polk will not play Saturday against Arizona State due to torn cartilage in his right knee. Polk will require surgery and is likely out for the following week against Oregon.

    Oklahoma State
running back Kendall Hunter (foot/ankle) is doubtful for this week's game against Missouri, per Tulsa World. Since there are no quotes from players or coaches, we don't know if they have additional information on Hunter or if they are just inferring based on comments from earlier in the week. Either way, it looks like Hunter will be a scratch once again.

Steven Sheffield is listed atop the Texas Tech depth chart for Saturday's game against Nebraska. However, there has been no official comment from coach Mike Leach. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal also notes that Taylor Potts did practice this week. At this point, we can only assume that Sheffield will get the start.

Miami Hurricane wide receiver Aldarius Johnson (shoulder) will miss this Saturday's game with Central Florida.

Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino has deemed running back Michael Smith (hamstring) a "game-time decision" for Saturday's game with Florida.

Six inches of snow has forced Penn State officials to close tailgating before Saturday's game against Minnesota. While the snow is expected to lighten up by kickoff, it could make for a slick and sloppy track. The crowd might be a little more subdued as well as the Yuengling consumption will be down.

Louisiana-Monroe quarterback Trey Revell will be out 3-6 weeks with a broken thumb.
