I'm personally not on this game, and don't have any thoughts on it either. Don't know enough about either team.

pags11 is on SMU this week I believe...not saying SMU is the winner, but betting opposite of Pags is a losing proposition in the long run

very tru i rarely blindly tail but i have to feel very strongly bout a play 2 go against pags he is truly da man and just reading his post every week has started to jack my win % up over da 60% mark as ive always been much better at nfl so i really appriciate all that you and him bring to the board

thanks guys...dreezy, be careful...stats only tell part of the story...as others mentioned this SMU team is starting to believe and is taking on the same personality as Jones' teams in Hawaii did...they will bring a maximum effort this weekend and I feel there is value with them at 7 or more...

I like Navy by double-digits. I think the OP is right on that they will run right through the SMU defense, whose strength is against the pass, which won't help them here vs. a Navy team that never passes.

I have seen every single Navy game and three of SMU's game...you are completely wrong if you think SMU's secondary is their strength on defense, their secondary is actually completely suspect...it's SMU's run defense that is the strength of their defense...you also don't comment about Navy's issues in the secondary, which Jones will have a gameplan to exploit...if you are that confident that Navy covers this game with ease I propose an avatar challenge for the current line of 7.5...you take Navy, I take SMU...

I can't see how you came to that conclusion about the SMU defense. They are only allowing 6.3 yards per pass attempt, which is excellent, and they lead the country with 13 interceptions. Meanwhile, they are allowing an ordinary 4.2 yards per rush attempt, which is not disgusting but hardly a strength.

As for SMU exploiting the Navy past defense, two things: Navy should be able to control Time of Possession with their great running game, keeping the Mustangs' offense off the field, and even when SMU does have the ball, I am not so sure Mitchell is capable of exploiting anyone, as he has as many INTs as TD passes (10) and is only averaging 6.88 yards per attempt.

And as for your "wager", you turn down my point challenge and come back at me with some juvenile avatar offer? I have no interest in that, but my offer for a point challenge still stands. If you want to do that, we'll talk tomorrow as all of my points are currently in-play on Thursday.

I saw a lot of people on Rice last week and Navy put up 63 points on that team. I see Rice and SMU being a similar team as far as talent goes. This looks good, but you never know.

I rode along w/Pags on SMU last week...actually I was impressed how hard they played against TCU even though they were outmanned! 2 big IFs for SMU though......IF they can get off the field and IF they do...will Bo Levi throw it to his or theirs? I think the line might creep up a little more towards 10 due to Navy's beatdown of Rice but SMU isn't totally rebuilding everywhere like Rice!

you have obviously not watched these two teams play a whole lot and are putting way too much emphasis into stats when Navy has played some very crappy teams...there is NO substitute for watching teams play, period...you haven't seen Mitchell's progress either, he has improved dramatically from last year and even since the beginning of this year...again, you are just looking at stats...you fail to mention the coaching mismatch in this game as well, or the fact that Navy had to travel to Texas then back to Maryland, perform all of their military duties this week, then head back across the country to play SMU...

avatar challenge it is and I can tell that you are scared...I would advise you to put a little more research into your games before you lay a TD plus on the road against June Jones and company...
