Weeknight game. On the Road. Primetime on ESPN. Seems to be the perfect storm brewing. Tulsa's defense is not that bad. They are only allowing 16 points a game which includes the 45 that Oklahoma hung on them a few weeks ago. And while there schedule as not been anything special, they have the ability to slow down the Broncos offense. Boise hasn't exactly stuffed the run either this year giving up huge yards on the ground to Ryan Matthews from Fresno St. and big plays to Bowling Green. Tulsa should try to run the ball more and expose the suspect run defense of the Broncos which should speed up the game and limit the amount of possessions the Broncos get. While I think Boise is clearly the better team, teams playing at home during the week always tend to rise up to the challenge and play above themselves. I think Tulsa comes out fired up and takes an early lead which in turns fires up the crowd but it won't be enough. Boise will play well enough to win by a touchdown but severely hurt their BCS dreams by not running Tulsa out of the stadium. Because I think it will be closer, I am taking Tulsa +10. Good luck to everyone on their plays. Should be a fun game to watch.
And being the best team in the little sisters of the west conference is what? Boise St has to get up for 1 big out of conference game a year and then they beat up on the Queens of the WAC and shit out of conference teams. Boise St should never be in a BCS bowl.
I think they win tonight, but I'm nervous about laying 10 on a weeknight game game on the road.
There was a light drizzle on the drive home from work 30min ago and might continue on and off throughout the night so don't count on anything worse.. the weather will NOT be a significant factor in tonights game.
The Broncos' task of running the table is starting to look easier, particularly after Tulsa that marks the toughest road game left on their schedule. The rest of Boise State's opponents have a combined record of 16-21.
The WAC schedule might not be the best way to build a resume with the BCS computer rankings and poll voters, but it's been a great way for the Broncos to keep their loss column empty. They've gone undefeated in conference play five of the last seven seasons.
My point? Boise will be fired up to win, and impress, knowing that anything less could be detrimental to their dream of landing a big time game come bowl season. I would love to take Tulsa, but I think the play is Boise St., as square as laying this many on the road to a team that has a great offense sounds...

One other odd thing I just noticed is this will only be Tulsa's 2nd home game of the season. Not sure if it means anything, but it will have to feel good for them to be home playing on national television with a chance to dash Boise's season.

I am on the fence here. Seen Boise St play at home and they lloked pretty good. I have bet on Tulsa this year and gotten burned. May just wait till game time and flip a coin. Should be a good game. But if I had to make my bet right now..it would be Boise. Just my thoughts

- Kyle Wilson is back tonight (this makes me want to take the under)
- G.J. Kinne is, essentially, the main running threat in Todd Graham's offense this year
- The re-establishment of Tulsa's O-line, injury-wise, could provide Tulsa the means to lend towards the over later in the game
- Oklahoma did not score a rushing touchdown against Tulsa since they virtually had no need to eschew the passing game at all with Landry easily throwing for 6.
IMO, Boise should score in a furry from the 2nd-3rd quarter when they figure out some defensive wrinkles, and Tulsa should help cover the over when the game is practically out of reach as they still do have remarkable receiving talent at every position.
