Default Miss State / Houston Under

Just FYI...I live about 2 hours from Starkville and will be at the game. The forecast calls for a big storm to roll through tonight and will still be around tomorrow at game time. Right now the line is in the neighborhood of 67-68 points. That is alot of points to put up on a rain soaked field and with the rain still coming down.

Also that same storm will be hitting Oxford and should still be around for the Ole Miss / Bama game. Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the update. 68 points seems ridiculously high even in great weather, although Houston's defense looks like shit. I'm hoping MSU runs the ball and eats clock which they should be able to do. I like the under better than both teams

Another angle maybe to support this here. Line opened at Houston -2, now is at Miss. St -2.5. MSU is by no means an offensive juggernaut, which leads me to believe folks aren't predicting Houston is going to score a ton of points in this game. Also, MSU seems to be a run first team which should eat a fair amount of clock against Houston. I'm not a big O/U player, but Under 68 looks fairly strong, especially if that weather front comes in.

Edit: And if I had to guess why it's so high, it's probably being strongly influenced by the Houston/UTEP score.

agreed 100%.... something seems wrong. people expect close game but high scoring. my belief is moderately close game (take houston) but HUGE COVER on the UNDER............. has MSU improved its scoring that much this year? i'll have to check

Ok, it looks like MSU can now score. but their yard per play isn't that great..... i still think the O/U is way too high

Agreed guys..I am a State fan and have been for a while. By no means does State have a high powered offense but has showed sparks of life when compared to the past few years. Mullens / Flordia influence is evident and State has two very good backs in Dixon and Stallworth and will pound the ball as usual. Houston will have to content with that tandum all day just as LSU did a few weeks back. Now I am not saying that Houston wont score, MSU secondary is weak, but guys remember this is an SEC defense that is fast and will pressure him all day. The passing game for State is in the infant stages at best. Tyson Lee is a small QB with not the most acurate arm. The the begining of the front has rolled through and dumped alot of rain here in the past hour and is heading to Starkville. The field will be a mess for sure. They are predicting more rain through the night. I dont know if this helps anyone but I just wanted to share my thoughts and what the weather is doing down here. BEst fo luck

I'm still pretty pissed/confused about Houston's loss to UTEP and I swore them off(at least for the season), but I think the under is too good to pass, but the weather is a big factor as well for me on this one. If it's raining that will definitely affect Keenum's ability to throw 500 some yards, besides states defense is stronger then UTEPs as well. Going under.

Exactly what i was thinking, yeah its a tough game to call. Maybe HOU just had a bad case of being ranked high, but i swore them off too. MSST may take care of them but i wanna give HOU another chance.

I just heard Houston coach on the radio and he sounded worn ass out. He didn't sound like he was ready to ball tomorrow. I'm not sure if he's jet lagged or what but he sounded like a loser already. Take it for what it's worth. I've put a little bit on MSU -2.5 and I'm large on the under 65. I missed the great early lines but hopefully won't need the extra points
