Look at the history between these team. Last year, when NV was worth a damn, it went down the to the wire. Tech has good run D, and NV isn't running all over them. Tech can win it also.

Just keep in mind, Nevada has played tougher competition and LA Tech looked good last week against a horrible hawaii team.

Im staying the hell away from this game....

Lousiana Tech has played Auburn and Navy.....not exactly easy competition

Colorado St. and Mizzou are NOT better than Navy and Auburn.

Navy had a close one with the Force. CSU will beat the force and so can Mizzou.

Mizzou is garbage. CSU? Really? I will most likely stay away from this game, but this line makes no sense.

Mizzou is dogshit, but I think they would beat Navy. Let's just work on cashing the Huskers on Thursday night.

Agreed. I really hope it doesnt rain, although I guess that helps nebraska out cuz missouri cant stop the run and Nebraska can run.

I got it at -2.5....-3 is all good. In all honesty I think Nebraska takes this one easily. I dont wanna say that, but do what you like.

    What ?????????????????

Nevada is averaging 6.87 yd's/att. and is ranked #3 in the Nation.
Tech is giving up 4.23 yd's/att. on defense and is ranked #105 in the Nation (out of 120). If that is not a conclusive disparity....then there isn't one.

I'm not tooting Nevada's horn here, but the above statement is ludicrous.

If you want to make a case for a wager on this game, then take a look at the TO's. Nevada can't hold on to the ball and is -12 on the year, while Tech is +5. Or, maybe point out the fact that Nevada has yet to kick a field goal....why?...Nevada is DEAD LAST in Red Zone conversions in all of NCAA DIV-1A football. How about the fact that Nevada is giving up 32 pt's/gm to teams collectively rated #58, while Tech is giving up only 22 pt's/gm to teams collectively rated #23 in the country.

Let me mention, I'm NOT sold on this matchup, especially with about 20+ other games that look more appealing, but some of the above mentioned factors become huge when a team has to lay over 2 scores in a game.

    Good Luck on your action...

Ok let's look at La Tech past opponents.

    Navy
    --- Triple Option

    Auburn
    --- One of SEC's top offense's

And a couple of garbage teams. Hawaii, and some D-1AA.

You face some top running teams, and your defense will suffer. But against a team with similar talent, La Tech can stop them.

Thank you for pointing out the stats, but opponents played is the crux of this discussion.

Let's keep in mind that 559 of Nevada's rushing yards this season came in one game against UNLV. That probably has a lot to do with their yards per rush. In fact, they only topped 170 rush yards one other time this year, and that was against Missouri. I think the reason for this line is Nevada's rush defense, oddly enough (which is La Tech's strong suit). Only given up 78 and 70 in the last 2 games. The 70 was to UNLV though and they were down BIG so they had no reason to run the ball.

Also compare apples to apples here. As Coug pointed out Nevada has faced UNLV which you can run on. Also there was Notre Dame which you can run on and Hawaii which you can run on.

LA Tech has faced Navy and Auburn both run oriented teams which are arguably better running teams than Nevada.

I am not on the game just pointing out how numbers without match-ups can be different depending on who's looking at them.

Louisiana Tech hung with Auburn in the first half. I just dont see who the wolfpack are to be laying 10.5 points EVER. They are terrible. They rolled on UNLV who beat hawaii by one and then lost to wyoming. Nevada has one player, the quarterback.

    Talking Close game

Last year Nevada won by 4. I'm taking La Tech +10 1/2.
