Default Thoughts on Ohio St. -14 Vs. Wisconsin

As of right now I'm not touching the game, and I initially leaned Wisconsin cause that line is SO high.

However....after giving it some though I think Ohio St. is the play here.

Wisconsin has had 3 games come down to the wire against Minnesota, Northern Illinois, and Fresno St. and NIU and Fresno were at home.

Their defense gives up a lot of yards and points, and their offense isnt good enough to keep up with a stout Ohio St. defense in my mind. I think Wisonsin is going to get rolled in this one.

    Thoughts????

I dont think winsconsin is a very safe pk at all, ohio state has improved greatly ea wk from the start, I watched them last wk and they held Indiana at home to 7 pts the other 7 was a garbage td on the last play (fluke).

Id take ohio st -13 personally bc they want the big ten title and have better talent.

Everybody on this forum is taking Wis and the pts?? IDK

There is no way wisconsin will upset O st. Absolutely 100% NO WAY, Ohio st is kicking ass right now and they are playing at home.

Wis +14 is risky enough, Ohio St is in stride right now they are dominating, wisconsin wont score enough points to compete

My guess is Wisconsin's strategy will be to control the clock, keep the game on the ground, and keep Pryor on the bench. If you think they can do that for even a half I think you have to take the points.

I know no one is saying here that Illinois is tough competition right? I mean, Minny, NIU, and Fresno are fairly decent early season competition. No USC in there granted, but it's not like they've played cupcakes all year.

Ohio State in a route. I said it once I'll say it again, Wisconsin plays high school football. They run a predictable offense, and hope to just over power you. There is no one bigger or faster than Ohio State in the Big Ten.

    Wisconsin defense is atrocious also.

People have already driven this line down to 13 (thank you Squares), Im seriously considering taking Ohio St -13, I think this will be a blow out.

This looks to me like a normal boring Big 10 pound the football kind of game. I dont see Wisconsin winning, but I dont think it gets to be a blowout. 14 is about the right line.

The line is up to 16....not down to 13.

I've decided to make Ohio St. -16 a play

The fact that they would have to even play bitch-football, to even cover should tell your gut that winsconsin is not the play. They will not keep Pryor off the bench, bc thier Defense is really really good.

Theyve held their past 3 opponents to 14pts, half of which were garbage pts, 7pts.

Toledo, Indiana, and Illinois are on the same level Offensive-wise as Winsconsin

Okay. Wisconsin doesn't have the offense to keep up with OSU in a shoot out, that much we agree on. However, I don't bet with my gut. I watch football games and make decisions based on what I see. If you can't understand that the Wisconsin strategy should be to sustain long time-consuming drives to keep the ball away from Pryor, then I'm not sure what else there is to say. Toledo, Illinois, and Indiana are not Wisconsin. That is also important. Teams match up differently during the course of the year. That's like saying since Minnesota beat Northwestern and Northwestern beat Purdue, Purdue will lose to Minnesota. It may very well turn out to be so, but it's not a foregone conclusion.

You're right....but no I don't think Wisconsin will hold long sustaining drives, and I expect their QB to throw a couple picks as well once they get down and have to throw it

I get your reasoning, and you may be right DD. But let's not kid ourselves here. It's not a ridiculous idea to take 16 points in a conference game. Especially when both teams are near the top of their conference.

So you you dont bet with your gut, BUT you bet with Doubt??

BC we have both est that winsconsins O isnt that great neither their D compared to Ohio St. Their (Winsc.) strategy is highly flawed bc Ohio st.' D is too strong.

Its a hard thing to neglect your ego once you have made a bold decision, but I'll give you credit for sticking w your guns.

No you're completely right....which is why I was originally like Wisconsin, but the line being SO high is ONE of the reasons I like Ohio state

I haven't posted my plays but Wisconsin will be one of them. If it goes to 17 I'll take it. I don't buy points. GL with whatever you guys decide. Also, I am not going to debate my ego with you, but for the record people on this forum know that I am a pretty fair person. I also don't consider myself beyond criticism, so feel free. You can also feel free to tell me where in my response I said that I bet with doubt.
