The Spartan's Week 5 Card....
Coming off an 8-4 week last weekend after struggling thru weeks 1-3. Here we go:
2 unit plays:
1. Miami +7
2. UCLA +5
3. Penn State -6.5
4. Teaser: Penn St ML, Washington +19.5, Giants -2, Colts -1
1 unit plays:
1. Cal +5
2. MSU -2
3. SMU -27
4. Lions +10.5
5. Vandy +8.5
On a lot of plays with ya this week MSU. Lions? Hmmm. Can't say I blame ya takin the points...is Kevin Smith playing? I think he's gonna be a real good back. GL this week...card looks good.
Hmm, I like SMU and PSU, but not MSU. That should read SMU +27 btw. I think Oklahoma is almost a lock the other way against the U.
Something tells me you might be betting with your heart a little on that one. Having watched all of U of M's games and 3 of Sparty's, I'd feel better taking the over on that one. 2 pretty good offenses and 2 really bad D's. Of course the weather is calling for rain, which could slow it down, and these rivalry games have a way of suprising.

Not a heart bet at all, I actually tail a couple of Pags' plays each week that make my initial card, and that was one of them.
I would be suprised to see Michigan win more than 1 road game all season, and I don't think this will be the one.

I think you are getting 27 in the SMU game - not laying 27 .... correct? Pretty good card though. I'm still on the fence with the Lions game. Cutler looked pretty good last weekend and the Lions secondary isn't looking so hot. But 10.5 points is a lot to get.

like the MSU pick, and it's not a homer pick. you can't discredit the fact that he pays a great deal of attention to Sparty athletics and dismiss it out of hand. Dantonio has a clock counting down to Michigan each year, as does OSU. Sparty is 1-3 SU, and needs this in a big way. Mich 2 frosh QB heading into hostile rainy environment, and Forcier not 100%. and of course, pags and msuspartans are on it. this one's obvious to a Big Ten fan. same as Wisky/Minn over.

Nice week MSU, GL with your NFL plays...UCLA was a tough one. I don't think I'll be going against Stanford any time soon. They have a real good football team.
