I've done OK to start the college football season. My fiancee has come up with a crazy idea. I'm the gambler and she's the conservative one! We have $12,000 in our "house fund". She wants me to pick ONE game this week and bet $10,000 on that game. If we win.... we will buy a house. If we lose, then our house hunting goes on hold until we build it back up. I'm not a huge fan of this idea..... because if we lose it's going to hurt! lol I usually keep within normal bankroll management rules. But it's her idea and I say what the hell!

ANYWAY, I'm going to do my own studying. I'll post my pick when I decide what it is. If anyone has a pick for this week that they consider to be a "lock" then please share..... with your reasons. Thanks! Good luck to all!

If you have a great hunch then go for it. My biggest bet was $10Gs and I cashed that bitch. My second biggest was $7500 and I cashed that as well. There were a few games that I knew I should have bet the house (UNC basketball final four and Uconn woman basketball for example) I hammered them both but I should have sledge hammered them. Easy to say today but if life can go on for you win or lose then hammer it. But at least get a great lean before you do. Don't just listen to the degenirates here. Do your own capping and find a big lean.

i don't recommend your comtemplated action, but i do like that it really simplifies people's top picks........ i wish we had a thread where everyone posts their top pick for the week (and maybe make it a friday deadline, but use the closing line). it really clarifies things.

as for picks, i don't know if SDSU and NC have powerful enough offenses to cover DD spreads, and the UNDER would probably be good in either game (obviously pending the actual figures)... utah state is way under the radar and has been extremely good vs. the spread for awhile now.

Im with a few posts up. Go with toledo. Ball State is straight balls. To be safe, you could bet the money line and still come out with a solid win. I still wouldn't recommend this play however. Too much on the line...

First of all.... yes this is for real. What would be the purpose of making it up. I probably gave too much personal info...... or maybe not enough! lol We COULD buy a house right now but she would prefer to wait. So it's almost like IF the bet wins... I win and we get a new house. IF the bet loses.... she wins and we wait on the house hunting. lol

If we lose I'm not going to kill myself or anything crazy like that. I'm almost liking the idea of betting on 2 games. That way I really only lose if I pick 2 losers. Weather, injuries, etc can change the outcome. But 2 seems more safe. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for the input!!
