Why the hell shouldn't I hammer the hell out of USF

Northwestern should have beaten Cuse and NWU's QB (Kafka or something) ran all over them and was moving the ball at will. USF may have the best defensive line in the country and the Frosh QB can ball in place of Groethe.

I've already layed $1G on USF... Why shouldn't I bet $5G's ?

I don't see Cuse moving the ball much against USF's defense. Plus USF's offense is high powered. I'm curious to see what the over is going to be as well.

The exact opposite is why this line is so low. Their offense is not prolific at all. You have a freshman qb making a road start travelling from florida all the way to new york to play indoors. That same team is coming off of a big win and the freshman qb will be feeling his oats. Don't get me wrong , the line surprised me as well but I was looking towards betting the orange at a higher number. I won't be involved at this number so I can wish you lots of luck. Of course, one play by paulus and the usf defense could cover the number for you pending the extra point.

be careful -- syracuse is more competitive than in recent years -- if the line was off, it would have moved by now -- teams often letdown after a big win and for usf it doesn't get much bigger than beating fsu

I got them at -7 (+107) because they still somehow seem underrated (although on face these "duh" plays always worry me). Syracuse is a bit more competitive and from what I've heard their home crowd has been more enthusiastic this year. I also think somehow Paulus gets them a bet more press (and perhaps respect) than they deserve.

This game looks similar to the cuse -minn game at the first of the year.Everybody thought Minn. forgetting that some games are a little shady. One thing for certain , for cuse to stay in this game they will need outside help

I'll grant you that the line looks fishy. I'll agree that this will be a heavy public play on USF. If you are concerned this is a very potential letdown spot after a huge win last weekend over FSU you have history on your side. If you think Syracuse is an improved team you're absolutely right.

Every week we all try and out smart the games, some do it better than others and still sometimes we just end up over analizing things. South Florida is far better on the defensive side of the ball. They are extremely fast and aggressive. Thye certainly are suspect with a rookie QB in his first road game no doubt. I personally think the athletism wins out here guys.

I would watch out. This definetly loos like a trap. Syracuse has played pretty well so far this year.

USF could have easily only scored 3 points against FSU if it weren't for them lucking out on two 70+ yard throws on horribly blown assignements by FSU's secondary.

USF could have also scored 2 more TD's as well. Refs called some horseshit calls against USF as well. No way in hell was USF only going to score 3 points. Did you see how they dominated both sides of the ball? Even Blobby said that USF beat the hell out of them, whipped them good. He said he was surprised how athletic those guys were and they were just better.

I doubt you will ever get Bowden to say the same thing about Cuse...

I agree.

I would've thought that Rick Tricket's (sp?) O-line would've faired much better than they did against the Bulls, but they were more-or-less dominated, and it seems that the experience of going against a South Florida defense at West Virginia would've aided FSU a bit.

So, I think a bit of credence should go to the SFU front-7, before their offensive output is denigrated when mistakes are taken advantage of accordingly.

I would fade this one simply on the fact that USF just came off a huge upset, and you usually see a team slacking off next week after they win the big one. Case in point: the Washington/Stanford game last weekend.

I just don't think situationally USF is going to warrant a play.

Maybe you and all the public thought that that was an upset but to me and the USF players, I don't think they thought they should have been dogs. I think everyone was discounting them because Groethe was out. For the record I had USF ML against FSU and I wasn't surprised in the least bit. I see no let down here in there first game in conference.

I appreciate all the comments and I understand both sides of the argument. I'm already locked and loaded LARGE (+20 units) on USF. In the end, I have to go with my eye test and USF's defense is too good IMO to lose this cover. Good luck to all on both sides
