Default Top 3 plays this weekend....

    1. Fresno St. +16.5 at Cincy - A lot of this stems from the fact that I think Boise is VERY good, so that game last week didn't scare me off the Bulldogs. I think Cincy is a good team, but I'm shocked anyone in the Big East is giving up 2 TD's plus to a Pat Hill team. Matthews and the running game will keep this one close and I think 27-14 is a realistic final here.

    2. Michigan State +3.5 (bought the hook) at Wisconsin - Finally get into Big 10 season which is where I made my money last year in CFB. I am going to be betting against Wisconisn early and often this year, they are already 1-2 ATS this season. I know many are reluctant to go against the Badgers as they are 33-3 in their last 36 at Camp Randal. However, this is not Barry Alvarez' Badgers. QB and passing game is mediocre at best, and while MSU was gashed thru the air by CMU and ND the last 2 weeks, their 4-3 and personnel is much better vs. a run oriented team. Sometimes in comes down to matchups, and MSU's run defense and MSU pass offense are just good matchups vs. Wisconsin.

The Badgers do have revenge on their mind after the comeback, last second victory in East Lansing last year, but after losing 2 straight nail-biters, this is a must win for the Spartans. MSU has settled on a QB (Kirk Cousins)who threw for over 300 yards vs. ND last week, and a RB in true freshmen Larry Caper. WR Mark Dell played in his first game of the year last week, and went over 100 yards receiving. It will be a slugfest, between two very physcial football teams, but I expect MSU to score early and often, and will be playing some on the moneyline and a bigger play on the 3.5.

    3. NCarolina +3 at GTech - Butch Davis is getting in athletes. We have seen what athletic defenses have done to GTech in their last 2 games vs. LSU (bowl) and "The U" last week. I like UNC to win this game outright.

    BOL to all this weekend.

This is a bad week to be betting on North Carolina. UNC is off a revenge win against an instate wannabe rival with another rivalry revenge game on deck. Meanwhile, GT is off a loss and wants to atone for last week and its worst performance of last season (other than the bowl game), a 28-7 loss to UNC. GT is in a much better spot and is as good as, if not better than, the Heels.

Fair points about the UNC game. I agree a lot about the "spot."

But, the GT defense is not good. Regardless of "spot," you still need to play football. And I think the GT offensive scheme has been exposed in their last 2 games against upper echelon athletes.

I like the Fresno pick. Cincy is a good team and I do think they win outright, but not by 16.5 I'm actually hoping to get 17 points before the end of the week. Good luck

    I just can't get a feel for UNC/GT.

I am expecting Tech to break out and catch someone struggling with that option. It happens.

I never expected UConn to play UNC as tough as they did.

    Good luck either way.

I have watched UNC play twice this year. They dont impress me at all, they struggled with UCONN to score some points and luckily got away with a win. Dwyer is the real deal and will be able to score. I think GTech is a good play but I dont think I will play it. Like Martin said I just cant wrap my head around it.

I believe NC has a good idea on defending the option. They held GT to 7 points last year. The Miami defensive coordinator coached at NC last year and they did a good job against GT. the 'heels should feel very confident about defending GT's offense coming into this game. Also GT pass defense is terrible.

Thanks, Chase. Will probably play UNC and MSU on the moneyline, making a little change if just 1 of the 2 wins outright. As I said, I would be very surprised to see the Badgers win this game.

Good luck MSU. All three of these games are on my card.

Good luck. I might make a play on that Fresno State game, too. That running back they have is ready to play on Sunday.
