Default NCAA Week 3 FINAL PLAYS

Last week I went 2-1 on my set plays with my only loss Georgia and South Carolina flying way over the total. I feel really strong about this week!! This is a pretty good card in my eyes.

    Kansas -21
    Notre Dame -10
    Tennessee +29.5
    Auburn -7
    Washington +21.5

Notre Dame -10 vs. Michigan State

This is one of these games that stuck out to me BIG TIME this week. You have Charlie Weis with his back against the wall in this game. But also his players have there back againts the wall. This Notre Dame team is a talented one who can spread you out on offense and beat you in many ways. The value of this team went down because of the loss to Michigan. Well people I will tell you this Michigan is a damn good football team. They are fast and very talented. Rich is doing the right thing there and N.D just could'nt hold on to the victory at Michigan. But lets talk about Michigan State for a second. This team loss to Central Michigan this weekend, and beat a D2 school in Montana St. I watch there game last week and I saw some things in that game that will get exploit when they play Notre Dame. Mainly the speed part of the game will be the big difference. I think with this team coming back home coming off a loss I can see a 20 point victory by Notre Dame. They will open that offense up spread it out and make Michigan St defense play speed on speed. I see a 38-10 victory by Notre Dame.

    Washington +21.5 over USC

Before I get in detail on this game I should state that this spread is climbing down. I seen it at 19.5 at 5 dimes. Washington under Sarkesian is a whole new football team. Anyone who is betting them simply off of last year will be sadly mistaken by the end of the year. This is a pretty good football team with Locker at QB. I personally feel Locker is the best QB in the PAC 10. Well anyway lets get to the game, USC is coming off a hard fought game against Ohio State in which USC won the game by playing very conservative with there true freshman QB. Well you guys better believe that Husky Stadium will be live and rocking Saturday when the Trojans come to town. Sarkesian knows USC offensive personality better than USC current offensive coordiantor. You better believe that defense will be hyped and well coached to contain USC. Washington also have a skill back in Polk who was heavily recruited by USC. The kid is a beast!! USC with there very conservative gameplan to me is a easy call on Washington who will play there defense and offense to USC weakness. Dont forget that USC defensive coordinator from last year is also at Washington. You cant tell me that these guys will not have a gameplan that can hang with USC. I think I'll take the double digit point spread with a Washington team with an coaching advantage.

    USC 28 Washington 21

I think Kansas and Washington may cover, but only put a small wager on Notre Dame...couldn't pull the trigger on the others although I like those picks. GL this week Z

Z.....Ralphie's point is you are doing what you always do.

You made 8 plays last week. Correct? 3 sides, and 5 first quarter plays.

    That is 8 plays.

You won 2. Lost 5, and pushed Penn State.

That adds up to 2-5-1. You can't isolate out your sides and say "I went 2-1". That wouldn't accurate or honest.

This is why guys give you such a hard time bud. You have to throw it out there...warts and all.

My spreadsheet sucks right now. But it is there for everyone to see.

My spreadsheet is there for people to see also . And on top of that I have my records sitting right there for people to see. What's the problem??

Well, the problem is your overall record doesn't break down your week to week. You could have had an incredible first week and then a shittty second week.

If you say "I went 2-1" last week, it would give the impression you only made three plays last week, and 18 plays the first week, make more sense?

Do what you want, but I am just trying to get you to understand why guys keep busting your nuts.

Z, where did you get Washington at +21.5?

It opened at 21, and it never got to 21.5 at any of the SBR lines (5Dimes, Match, BetJam, Greek).

    Did you buy .5 point?

Notre Dame hasn't beaten Michigan State at Notre Dame Stadium since 1993 when a guy named Lou Holtz was coaching. MSU's secondary will be under fire, but its front seven is SOLID with the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and Butkus Award nominee Greg Jones in the middle. If the Spartans' front seven can get pressure on Clausen, it won't give the ND receivers time to get downfield for big plays.

On the other side of the ball, ND has not encountered a true run-first offense like MSU's this year. Nevada featured a gimmick pistol offense and Michigan plays the spread. This will be a tough test for ND's defensive line, especially against an MSU line led by center Joel Nitchman, who is nominated for the Rimington Award. Can Notre Dame still play smash mouth football?

Considering the history of this matchup, and Michigan State's recent dominance of Notre Dame (6 in a row at Notre Dame and 9-of-12 overall), I don't see this being a double digit affair at worst and I see a Spartan victory on the field at best. I was tempted to take the moneyline, especially with MSU coming off a bad loss against a Central Michigan team with an NFL-bound QB, but I can't underestimate ND and Weis' quest for national respect.

Prediction: Notre Dame 27, Michigan State 24

I use a local guy for all my wagers. As long as you document your record, and keep a spreadsheet, and your lines aren't 5 points different, I think that's fine. That's what I do, and no one questions my integrity. Admittedly, saying you went 2-1 when you went 2-5-1 might make people question it, even if you were only referring to the sides you played. Just be more specific next time and there shouldn't be a problem. It seems your threads always devolve into this...it's a shame...

Another reason the line might be dropping is the fact USC's freshman qb has a sore shoulder. Report on Mad Dog Sport's today stated that he's being held out of practice and not sure how much or in what capacity he will play Saturday. So could be a fullblown running attack which will keep the clock running and less oppertunitties to score.

I understand all your points but I honestly think Notre Dame has the better athletes, when you talk about a fast team I think Notre Dame has to be mentioned. Michigan St. on the other side is not that fast and that speed on Notre Dame offense will produce a lot of points. Now those past recent games are true but this is a better Notre Dame team than most in the past.Sometimes trends can be misleading, I don't put to much stock in them.

I love Mich St +11 from a local bookmaker. I watched the entire game last weekend against Central Michigan and the Spartans really dominated the game. It was one of those "let the other team hang around" games. I don't think Clausen can come through in the big spot and really like Mich St defense to wreak havoc all afternoon.

The over sound good. Thats the only thing I'll play if I would play that game.

Also that BYU game is a tricky one. Obviously Florida St. either had a hangover last week or they was looking ahead to this week. I'll stay away.

    Texas -17.5 over Texas Tech

Everytime I talk about BIG SPREADS I talk about defense. Well people I watched Texas both times this year and they have impressed me. To be honest this is the best team in the nation to me. They are extremely talented on both sides of the ball, but that defense they have is what people will be talking about soon. Will Muschamp is a hell of a coordinator who gets the most out of his defense. I know Muschamp and his style really well from when he was in Tiger town running our defense. The guy is a stud and he will have a gameplan to shut Tech down. But lets chat about Texas Tech. Dont ever play this team in the conference on the road in primetime. Last year with Crabtree and Harrel they got destroyed in Norman by Oklahoma. I think it repeats this year when they head to Austin. Also what excites me most is Texas offense, they are even better to me this year. This team is BALANCED, they have a real nice set of recievers and backs. GUYS I CAN SEE THIS GAME GETTING UGLY IN BIG TIME FASHION AFTER TECH STOLE TEXAS WHOLE SEASON FROM THEM LAST YEAR!!!!

    Tennessee +29.5 over Florida

People may call me crazy for playing this game but Tennessee is the strongest play. People lets get REAL!! Florida lost over 1200 yards of offense when HARVIN AND MURPHY left to go to the PRO'S!! When this Florida team was blowing people out last year it was all MURPHY AND HARVIN doing the dirty work. Well guess what ?? They are gone! This Florida team in there 1st two games have struggled at the WR position. They only have 1 solid WR and thats Cooper, other than that this team is struggling at that position. I expect Kiffin (Buccaneers old defensive coordinator) to have a massive gameplan for Florida offense. He will attack Tebow with the same gameplan the PRO's would attack him with. With Tennessee defense which is not a bad defense and Florida offense who is struggling at the WR position I really believe Berry and his crew can contain them. Now lets talk about this Florida defense. Florida gave up OVER 200 yards to Charleston Southern in week 1 and thats a cause for concern to me. I think Tennessee WILL be able to run the ball on this Florida team effectively. This game will be closer than people think I can tell you guys this FLORIDA IS NOT THE TEAM YOU THINK THEY ARE!! NO HARVIN, NO MURPHY SUBTRACT TEBOW 2 MAIN THREATS FOR 3 YEARS I'LL TAKE THE SEC DEFENSE IN TENNESSEE TO WHOLE IT UNDER A 29.5 SPREAD!!

    Auburn -7 over West Virginia

Guys I will say it now Auburn will be the suprise team in the SEC this year. I like what they are doing in Auburn! This offense is way way better and there defense is an typical aggressive SEC defense. Guys whenever I see a non conference team playing against a SEC team at home it will draw my eyes. Auburn is a strong play simply because we know they will have defense but the question with Auburn is what about the offense. Well they are simply better now and I'm a believer. This team is running a no huddle fast pace spread offense and it's working. They are scoring in bunches and they are fast ball club. Chizik has put together a hell of a coaching crew and I think thats whats going to make them better this year. West Virginia on the other hand struggled against Auburn last year but pulled away at the end. I think Saturday Auburn will redeem themselves and pull away late and I also think they will crack the top 25 in a BIG WAY!! This spread opened at 5 and now it's at 7.5! Guys take Auburn!!

Dolphin, are you sure you watched the Central Michigan-Michigan State game?

Are you really sure you watched it?

CMU out gained Michigan State by over 100 yards.

CMU had 28 first downs to Michigan State's 17.

LeFevour was 33 of 46 for 360 yards. How the hell did you come up with Michigan State "dominating" CMU?
