    Default North Carolina vs UConn

Im leaning towards North Carolina -4

Let me start of with North Carolina beating UConn last year (38-12) and yes i know it was in chapel hill. UConn's QB threw 3 picks against a soft Ohio D. UConn did have 259 yds rushing so I think they will try to concentrate their offensive attack in that way. The D-line for the tar heels have 3 starters back from last year. The D returns 9 overall. I think they will put UConn in alot of 3rd and longs and make Frazer throw the ball and we saw what happened when he does that. Its looking like UConn will be without their 2 top LBS (Scott Lutrus and Sio Moore) Lutrus is day to day and they are saying more could be out for 2 weeks. I like home dogs just as much as the next guy but i think this is one to go the other way on.

watch out for the fake fair catch call, UConn is TRASH, they always luckily slop out games they have no business winning.

I went to and now work at UNC so I'll throw that out up front. Glad to be getting back to the sports betting scene now that I've got some free time to pay attention to it. Spent last week lurking around and thanks to all who provided great write-ups, they were hugely helpful.

Back to the game. As far as defense, it looks like it'll be the strength for UNC this year (and a first in a decade). The front seven look like they'll be really nasty this year. They will be the two strongest units on the entire team (D-Line and LB corps). They were simply unrelenting last week and it's refreshing to see D-lineman and linebackers who attack the ball.

As far as offense, it's still a large question mark. Even though we racked up 40 last weekend, it wasn't a real test so it'll be interesting to see if the freshman WR's can shake off the nerves and convert "almosts" into huge plays as many passes went bouncing off finger tips vs. the Citadel.

The huge numbers the running game threw up last week I attribute to the quality of the defensive line they were facing. Our O-line is far from healthy and we have a lot of questions in that squad as the year progresses and they handled the trenches last weekend easily because the Citadel was simply over-matched.

Our QB is solid and will be a calming factor as long as we can keep him healthy.

I think the difference in the game will be the pressure the D-line can put on the UConn QB. If they keep up the steam they had last week, he'll spend a lot of the day running. If he has time, it'll be a close game.

I didn't get a chance to watch the UConn (hey, I work on gameday ) so I can't say anything in regards to anything not in the boxscore.

UNC is the real deal this year. They cruise in this one.

I'm a UNC homer and the line does not make any sense to me at all. We blew them out last year and have 9 of 11 starters back on D, I can't see them putting up many points against us. Our D is nasty good.

UNC's receivers are all freshmen or first year starters except for Greg Little, who was a huge recruit and supposed massive talent that has never proven himself consistently on any level. Two of them were 5 star recuits (Dwight Jones and Josh Adams), but Jones was hurt last week and Adams couldn't catch cold, had literally 5-6 drops. Little has shown flashes of brilliance, but for the most part has been a mediocre player. None of our current receivers have ever really been expected to do anything before this year as we had 3 receivers who were taken in the NFL draft last year, Nicks in the first round.

Uconn will put 8 in the box to stop Draughn & Houston from running and make us throw. Draughn is good but is prone to fumble. Houston is a bruiser used primarly in the red zone. If the receivers live up to the hype and open up the run at all, it could be a romp.

We opened against a pathetic Citadel team that looked like a high school team, I do have some concern that we may have to adjust to the speed and size of a real team after rolling over a bunch of Citadel players that could not walk on to most BCS programs.

Having said all that, UCONN squeaked by Ohio in week one and I would have expected the line this week to be at least 7.5 if not in the low double digits. When a line looks this fishy, I get scared.

Guess I am in the minority, I like UConn as a home dog and will probably play them on the Money Line.

I got NC as a field goal better. But if the money line stays where it is the better value to to cheer for the upset.
