    Default Week 1 thoughts

    1. The offenses stunk. Minus a handfull of teams, almost everyones offense looked bad in week 1. It started off with the two clunkers Thursday and carried on onto today. Is this a trend or are the offenses just a little rusty and behind the defenses still?

    2. Big 12 & SEC are the cream of the crop again. ACC...what the heck? Whatever good Oklahoma State did yesterday was taken away by what happened to Oklahoma later. Still it's hard to argue that the Big 12 and SEC will go back and forth proclaiming themselves as the best conference this year. However there will be another team pounding their chests and that will be the winner of next weeks game which brings me to....

    3. USC will pound Ohio State. Call it a look ahead game or call it what you want, Navy came way too close to winning that game. Ohio State had to put in much more time and effort preparing for Navy than USC had to put in against SJSU. Ohio State hasn't matched up well with speedy teams in recent years.

    4. Georgia and Oklahoma are in trouble. Oklahoma didn't look like itself before the Bradford injury, and even though their schedule is weak over the next two weeks this could be something that nags him all year. Georgia looked awful and is staring 7-5 right in the face. UGA looked bad in their spring game and they didn't look like they improved any yesterday.

    5. BYU should get NC consideration if they run the table...but they won't. There will be a slip up somewhere and it might not come until the last game of the year vs. Utah.

Agree with you BYU. The Mountain West may be the 4th best conference.

giving UGA 7-5 this year is being generous IMO.
Looks like the same old demons again this year which is special teams, TOs, and game changing penalties.( a couple were questionable calls at best ie. laying the wood on recievers)
cant forget WMs soft defense with no hope of getting pressure on QBs.

It was a lackluster performance for the majority of teams this weekend IMO

    Thoughts on USC/OSU line?

I haven't seen it yet, but I would think it'd be around USC -6 or 7 I can't see Ohio State being a big dog at home to anyone. USC still has a freshman QB and Navy provides a much tougher challenge than SJSU does. I think at USC it'd be around -12...so if you get 6 points for playing at home...

I was thinking about USC -7.5

I'm thinking it'll probably be USC -4.5 or -5. USC looked damn good, but not against anyone good. And OSU is either not a very good team and Navy is going to be a powerhouse, OR they were caught looking ahead. I'm thinking the latter

    bypp.......USC DID look good.

San Jose State has a ROCK SOLID DEFENSE and USC ran all over them.

USC SHOULD ROLL OHIO STATE AGAIN THIS YEAR.

Everyone is nearly running the same offense. Defenses are not surprised anymore. Va Tech will not win the ACC, Alabama will be tough to beat, and California will go to a BCS bowl. Other musings. Texas just cakewalked into the National championship game, and Penn State will run the table. Just my feel from week 1.
